About this Opportunity

As an IT Analyst Technical Architect - Digital Innovation, you'll design and implement IT processes. You will provide support to functional areas by creating and communicating solutions to complex problems and projects.

  • Identify, describe, develop, and deliver emerging technology solutions to drive business value and reduce inefficiencies in the business.

  • Work closely with internal stakeholders, the start-up ecosystem, and university partnerships, taking a multi-party collaborative approach to balance external and internal thinking to cultivate and apply innovation to our most strategic business processes.

  • Monitor the progress of applied solutions through the digital innovation process and and ensure collaboration with the business to drive the proposed benefits.

  • Research and benchmark the viability, desirability, and feasibility of new technology through research, applicability, and prototyping.

  • Effectively communicate research findings, ideas, and concepts, both verbally and visually, for internal leaders for immediate application.

  • Use insight from the knowledge gained during technology research to conceive, propose, and develop projects.

  • Synthesize user needs, business factors, corporate and IT strategy, research insights, and future trends to support and apply to the business.

  • Inform and present ideas and opportunities that can translate to actionable recommendations that can be leveraged by leadership and the business.

  • Lead or support projects to implement new technologies or technical solutions across the organization.

  • Lead IT innovation, research, and discovery and implement new technologies or technical solutions across the organization.

  • Apply advanced problem-solving skills and execute solutions to complex problems independently.

  • Apply learned IT skills to your work assignments.

  • Coach and mentor IT tasks and skills to others.

  • Develop and implement IT processes.

  • Identify opportunities and own improvements to technologies and IT processes.

  • Lead, define, and complete complex IT tasks independently. You may also lead small projects.

  • Manage and be accountable for project completions.

  • Present work output in a clear and concise manner.

  • Perform additional responsibilities as requested to achieve business objectives.

You might be just who we’re looking for if you have...

  • A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or another relevant academic discipline (preferred).

  • Six years of professional IT and IS experience.

  • Experience participating on project teams.

  • An expert knowledge of how current trends and technology may be used to support business partners.

  • A keen sense of change, innovation, and agility concepts with an understanding of enterprise pragmatism.

  • Relationship management skills and the ability to engage and inspire internal and external parties.

  • A deep curiosity for all things digital and the ability to learn new technical concepts and solutions quickly, as well as organize complex concepts and technologies into an easy-to-understand story and solution.

  • Strategic thinking skills with business judgment.

  • A proficient understanding of and ability to identify how technology solves business problems.

  • A core understanding of and ability to connect the needs of multiple Herman Miller functional areas.

  • Excellent writing skills and an ability to make complex information tangible.

  • Well-developed organizational, communication, and interpersonal relationship skills.

  • An entrepreneurial spirit and passion to work within rapidly-changing environment.

  • A bias toward action.

  • The ability to work with business managers to understand business directions and constraints to develop a thesis based on emerging technology-enabled solutions.
