We are currently looking for a Research Statistician to join our rich, deep technical team renowned for accomplishments in radar image processing, sensor design and development, enterprise and product engineering, and operationalization of powerful SAR technologies. Experimental design and execution of user evaluations focused on advanced SAR algorithms and products
Participation in planning and execution of field experiments to collect robust ground truth image data
Assessment and characterization of automated algorithms with machine-learning underpinnings
Design of robust and extensible SAR quality model constructs
Statistical analysis and development of predictive models toward comprehensive characterization of SAR quality and utility
Derivation of germane quality metrics and scales for wide user and enterprise applicability
Planning & execution of studies toward system performance modeling and trade studies
SAR GEOINT product quality assessment & optimization
Summarization of technical results, solutions, and recommendations and presentation to government and technical community
Must be a U.S. Citizen and be willing and able to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI security clearance.
Bachelor's degree in Statistics or Mathematics, or related technical field with statistics minor/concentration plus 3-10 years' experience in experimental design, evaluation, statistical data analysis, and/or linear modeling; OR Master's degree or PhD in the academic fields as specified above, with 0-6 years' experience in experimental design, evaluation, statistical data analysis, and/or linear modeling.
Proficient in the organization and exploitation of large and complex data sets
Programming skills w/ the ability to conduct research utilizing Python, R, scripting, MATLAB, and/or equivalent
Ability to effectively communicate complex ideas and results to technical and non-technical audiences
Aptitude and creativity for working with significant latitude in research direction and application
Capacity to collaborate with internal and external experts across a range of relevant technical disciplines
Signal processing experience
SAR system design, processing, and/or algorithm development
Strong technical writing skills
Software engineering practices; development and implementation of operational software
Active/current TS/SCI clearance
