MAXAR Information System Security Officer in ypsilanti, Michigan

Maxar is currently seeking an Information System Security Officer (ISSO) to join our team in Ypsilanti, MI. In this role, you will work closely with the Information System Security Manager (ISSM) and Security Manager in the operations and management of the Information Assurance (IA) and Computer Security (CS) for program networks.

Responsibilities:

  • Directly responsible to the ISSM on matters pertaining to program network security

  • Provide research and analysis of emerging and disruptive information technologies

  • Support full lifecycle certification and accreditation (C&A) deliverables and Plan of Action and Milestones (POA&M)

  • Conduct interviews, document examination, write security documentation, vulnerability analysis, and risk management

  • Exercise excellent written communication skills with direct experience writing system security plans and documentation

  • Conduct of technology impact assessments for the application of new technologies or products on existing infrastructure

  • Conduct formal risk assessments as part of product/technology analysis or in the analysis of system design

  • Active participation in multidisciplinary working groups solving complex problems

  • Analytical thinking in solving complex technical and policy related problems

  • Be an effective organizer and able to follow standard operating procedures and health and safety guidelines

  • Continuously improve personal technical performance through cyber industry leadership, memberships, and conferences, training and independent outside study

  • Provide technical feedback to research and development teams to shape and develop the next generation IS and CS solutions

  • Configuration Control to include: Software/hardware authorizations, network configuration changes, and system security engineering

  • Other functions as directed to support the overall security program

  • Investigate security incidents to include data spills, data integrity incidents, and malicious code incidents

  • Ensure system security measures comply with applicable government policies, provide configuration management and accurately assess the impact of modifications and vulnerabilities for each system.

  • Maintain day-to-day security posture and continuous monitoring of IS including security event log review and analysis

Minimum Requirements:

  • Must have a current active TS/SCI and be willing and able to obtain a CI Polygraph

  • Requires 3 years of relevant experience.

  • Demonstrated experience with the Risk Management Framework (RMF) process and its application under the Intelligence Community Directive‐503 (ICD‐503) and Joint Special Access Program Implementation Guide (JSIG)

  • Requires an active Information Assurance Certification in accordance with DoD Directive 8750

  • Knowledge and Understanding of Intelligence Community Directives (ICD), the National Industrial Security Program Operation Manual (NISPOM), DAAPM Baseline Standard requirements, Joint Special Access Program Implementation Guide (JSIG), and the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) guidelines.
