br/bEastern Michigan University/bbr/br/bSalary: /bDepends on Qualificationsbr/bJob_Type: /bFull Timebr/bJob_Number: /b02273br/bClosing: /b10/28/20br/bLocation: /bMain Campusbr/bDivision: /b AEMbr/br/bGeneral Summary/bbrbrProvide technical support for the Banner automated systems and 3rd party business systems, coordinate business systems security and batch processing, administer Banner and 3rd party business systems, maintain data structures, and provide reports and system analysis as requested for assigned department(s).brbrbPrincipal Duties and Responsibilities/bbrbrMaintain a calendar of all activities to coordinate production runs and reports for the Banner and 3rd party business systems.brbrAdvise internal and external stake holders about processes related to customer computer based technology.brbrAssist with the ongoing review, maintenance, and revision of office policy and procedure manuals.brbrConfer with employees at all levels of the organization to gain knowledge of work situations requiring preventive, remedial, and/or other training related sessions.brbrAssist in planning, coordinating, and administering all staff training functions and programs.brbrRepresent Department on system related committees.brbrCoordinate system upgrades and modification for assigned department(s).brbrRecommend modifications or improvements in existing systems and procedures to improve efficiency for assigned department(s).brbrAssist management team in the evaluation and implementation of new systems and processes.brbrCoordinate report requests through the Banner and 3rd party systems, reconcile and correct input errors, and maintain data files for assigned department(s).brbrProvide ad-hoc queries and reports as required.brbrAnalyze, design, develop, or modify existing reports to comply with report requests and specifications.brbrCoordinate preparation of request for reports both internal and external within appropriate timelines for assigned department(s).brbrProvide technical assistance for information systems within assigned department(s).brbrResearch and analyze technical system problems and provide recommendations for resolution.brbrServe as liaison to IT to assist with the department technology needs.brbrAdhere to any and all NCAA, Mid-American Conference and Eastern Michigan University policies, rules, regulations, and operational procedures.brbrPerform related departmental duties as required.brbrbQualifications/bbrbrKnowledge of computer systems, program development, business administration principles, and report writing tools with strong skills in written and interpersonal communications, organization and problem solving, typically acquired through the completion of a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Accounting, or Computer Science, or the equivalent combination of education and experience, is necessary.brbrTwo years previous on-line data systems experience is necessary.brbrMinimum two years of demonstrated technical experience working with computer systems, databases, and report writing tools such as MS Access, Excel, or Crystal is required.brbrEffective conflict management skills are required (e.g. defuse emotionally charged situations, clearly identify issues, clearly communicate procedures for resolving issues, working with the customer to develop a resolution acceptable to both the work unit and Information Technology departments).brbrExcellent communication and interpersonal skills are required.brbrKnowledge of speci
