- The Applications Engineer is the main interface between ZF and the customer for Electric Power Steering Systems within ZF’s Active and Passive Safety Division. The Applications Engineer represents the voice of the customer to the broader ZF engineering community and works to ensure the product can be manufactured, cost-effective, meet customer specifications, and maintains ZF company standards.
Provide main ZF interface to external customer for meetings, change requests, and issues
Obtain customer approvals for all engineering related changes
Work with ZF CAD team to release Customer Interface Drawings
Lead coordination of prototype parts order and builds
Frequent local travel to and from customer engineering center and assembly plant
Infrequent global travel to and from ZF and customer engineering centers and assembly plants
Essential Skills and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an accredited university
Minimum, 8 years experience in steering industry
Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks at single time
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Preferred Skills and Experience:
Product lifecycle management knowledge.
Experience with PTC Windchill and / or PTC Integrity.
