Summary

About the Position: The ILSC is responsible for sustaining war fighting readiness and managing a large part of the Army's investment in warfighting capacity as integrators of nearly 3,000 weapon systems that form the core of the Army's war fighting capability. The referral list(s) generated by this announcement may be used to fill future vacancies in other organizations throughout the Integrated Logistics Support Center (ILSC).

Responsibilities

Plans projects, programs or studies, of a broad complex nature involving the writing of technical bulletins, technical manuals, supply publications, modification work orders, lubrication orders, etc., for the weapon system

Reviews and analyzes the progress of publications preparation to determine problem areas, assist publications personnel in correcting deficiencies, and to establish priorities, which are based on equipment deliveries.

Manages, coordinates and accepts or rejects the technical publications activities and output of the contractor for the system to ensure the accomplishment of program objectives.

Maintains continuous liaison and working relationship with technical publications activities of contractor personnel, and other government agencies to assure the most complete, accurate, and adequate publications package to support the weapon system.

Advises Weapon Systems Team on publications policy.

Position may be filled as a temporary promotion or temporary reassignment NTE one year by a current permanent Army employee. Temporary promotions or reassignments may be extended up to a maximum of five years, and may be made permanent without further competition. **Position may be filled as a temporary appointment NTE one year, if candidate is not a current permanent Army employee. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower grade GS-11 which include: Controlling, directing, and managing publications programs throughout weapons systems and equipment life cycles; developing training, operating and maintenance manuals; knowledge of publications principles, methods, and concepts in the Tank-automotive field. Such experience may have been acquired as a writer or editor of technical reports, articles, manuals, or specifications. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas:
