Apply safety knowledge to supportincorporating safety processes within the current organization processes./span/span/span/spanspanspanspanspanThe System Safety Engineer is responsible for the execution of the SSPP on assigned Military program(s) by providing effective system safety engineering support to Integrated Product Teams (IPTs) through identification and analysis of potential hazards in design, operation and maintenance./span/span/span/spanspanspanspanspanPerformance of and/or support to Hazard analyses such as Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA), System Hazard Analysis (SHA), Subsystem Hazard Analysis (SSHA). Preliminary Hazard Analysis (PHA), Fault Tree Analysis (FTA), Functional Hazard Analysis (FHA) and Safety Assessment Reports (SAR)./span/span/span/spanspanspanspanspanResponsible for identifying and tracking new Safety requirements, and providing criticality and Level of Rigor assessments including Software Criticality Indexes using DO-178, MIL-STD-882E, AOP-52, and the Joint Software System Safety Handbook (JSSSEH) as Safety standards./span/span/span/spanspanspanspanspanPerforming safety reviews verifying the execution of Software Level of Rigor (LOR) tasks based on the assessed software criticality index./span/span/span/spanspanspanspanspanPreparation of data packages and briefing material for System Safety Review Boards./span/span/span/spanspanspanspanbspanRequired Skills: /span/b/span/span/spanspanspanspanspanDue to the sensitivity of customer related requirements, U.S. Citizenship is required./span/span/span/spanspanspanspanspanBachelor of Science degree or higher in related engineering or science discipline./span/span/span/spanspanspanspanspanMinimum 8 years of experience in System Safety or related engineering discipline is required./span/span/span/spanspanspanspanspanMust be able to obtain and maintain a DOD Secret clearance./span/span/span/spanspanspanspanspanThe candidate should be a self-starter, and have strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills./span/span/span/spanspanspanspanspanExperience in a leadership role as a Safety Engineer is preferred./span/span/span/spanspanspanspanspanStrong knowledge of DO-178, MIL-STD-882E, AOP-52 and the Joint Software System Safety Handbo
