The primary responsibility of the CVE is to ensure that validationis rigorously completed on-time with excellence. The CVE is the voice of component validationfor his/her assigned Program Validation Team and the SMT. The CVE is expected to optimize acomprehensive and detailed plan to develop and validate the assigned componentto its technical requirements.

  • Modify/updatecomponent specific Appendix G2, review with TIE, and upload to eSOR
  • Attendsupplier tech reviews and communicate specific ADVP&R requirements.
  • Reviewand approve final supplier ADVP&R
  • Supportdefinition of the GMW3172 Code for SSTS/CTS Sections 3 & 4
  • SupportCTS/SSTS/FTS peer review.
  • Definevalidation requirements for SSTS/CTS Section 4 including VCRI.
  • CVE tosupport kickoff meeting with SME for CG2999
  • Ensure validation is completed on-time withexcellence
  • Trackthe execution of component software and hardware validation and facilitateapproval with SMEs
  • CVE toupdate component scorecard weekly by noon on Fridays.
  • Verbally communicates program status to VVEwhere a change in status occurs
  • Document test failures via PRTS or ESIMS.
  • Supportthe TIE with Closed Loop Learning process for PRTS closure.
  • CVEsupports 5-phase creation for validation issues as needed
  • Signsoff on EWOs/TWOs at appropriate stages
  • Escalatesissues to validation leadership
  • IssuesPRRs to suppliers or supports SQE to issue PRR
  • Evaluateimpacts to program team change requests (CR/DN)
  • Evaluateimpacts to Synergy CRs.
  • Participatein the CG3000 (Software Change Description) reviews as needed
  • Supportsstorage of FMVSS documentation
  • Trackscompliance to Cyber security initiatives.
  • ConfirmTALC approvals with DRE.
  • CVE toconfirm with DRE for completion of AVSS as necessary.
  • Systemsafety testing
  • Serialdata and Diagnostics
  • Reviewsand approves deviation EWOs with CVE Manager.
  • CVE supports PPAP sign-off by signingvalidation approval.
  • Facilitatevalidation coordination meeting with supplier validation representatives.
  • Activelyparticipates in all aspects of the DREs PDT.
  • Supportprogram team meetings as needed
  • Supportdesign peer reviews, HVF activities and wiring WHAs per program timing.

Basic Required

  • Bachelors in Engineering, Computer Science or IT
  • High level of oral and written communication skills
  • High level of organizational skills - Able to manage complex projects with a lot of detailed tracking documents.
  • Able to work within a team of engineers and communicate issues and testing results effectively
  • Understanding of engineering theory and principles of operation of mechanical/electrical mechanisms
  • Knowledge of CAE analysis related to plastic and metal materials.
  • High level analytical ability where problems are unusual and complex
  • High level of interpersonal skills to work independently while driving for results and working effectively with others team and organizations
  • At least 2 years’ experience in job-related components and/or testing validation experience
  • This position requires the ability to legally operate a vehicle on a regular basis

Preferred

  • Familiarity with PSDS component environmental testing
  • Previous subsystem and/or component testing experience in automotive.
