GM Infotainment and Connectivity systems integration engineers are key to integrating new features and interfaces early in the vehicle development life-cycle. You will have the first look at exciting new technologies and bringing them to life in GM vehicles! This is a hands-on job and the end of the day you'll see the results that you accomplished during the day.
In this role you'll be responsible for developing and integrating new infotainment/telematics features and interfaces into GM vehicles. You'll be working on vehicle components, subsystems and off-board connectivity for different Infotainment features/interfaces. You'll be applying your engineering knowledge and problem solving, while working with other engineering groups. We are seeking someone who has a high level understanding of engineering concepts as they apply to systems integration. Additional Job Description
Understanding and working with the detailed operation of cross-module infotainment features
Verify operation of Infotainment features that cross module interfaces. Work is performed well in advance of validation timeline.
Acquire and analyze data logs such as Automotive Ethernet, MOST, CAN, and LIN for root cause identification.
Work directly with suppliers to develop, test and integrate interfaces and features that use them
Conduct workshops with suppliers for feature/interface development issues and document appropriately to a specific module owner.
Follow up to ensure issue resolution was performed timely and properly, own and drive issues to closure.
Understand system configurations and develop optimal combinations for development and test
Order long lead parts and bench components early and proactively
Develop execution plans for each integration release
Identify and communicate group tasks to complete integration work ahead of time
Assist the Release and Validation organizations as needed
Participates in design/peer reviews
Utilizes input from internal/external customers to meet requirements
Familiar with the Global Vehicle Development Process (GVDP)
Keeps abreast of current product developments and trends in area of responsibility
Vehicle Spy CAN Tool, GB Mapping on vehicle, ARXML – DID/RIDs
Flashing – Software parts breakdown, Must be able to update an entire vehicle, VESCOM process
LIN and LIN breakout
Vehicle Spy Internal variables
Key Provisioning/MAC Checker – must be able to production KP entire vehicle
Extensible Security System and access
CSM Logging Including Secure ADB, VIP
PRTS/ESIMS Systems knowledge
Partial Networks detailed knowledge
Presentation mode and stand alone data logging
Ethernet interface tools, data logging and debug – AVB, A2B
Ability to do hands-on work such as soldering, ECU flashing, vehicle updates, component removal/installation.
Understands appropriate systems engineering methods with emphasis on product integrity/safety
Working knowledge of automotive concepts and comfortable working in and around vehicles
DFSS Green Belt/Black Certified
Knowledge of GM’s Global B Electrical Architecture
