Job Description

Then, imagine what you can do as part of a multi-disciplinary team tasked with Humanizing Mobility, designing our next generation of connected and electric cars and trucks, and transforming the automotive industry.

Our User Experience team is seeking a talented and passionate Driver Performance Technical Lead in the Launch Readiness space to create world standard in-vehicle user interfaces. As a Driver Performance Technical Lead, you will collaborate with the vehicle program teams, design team, strategists, user researchers, technologists, and business stakeholders to craft the identification, description, and the interpretation of the content of images and develop the iconography strategy for our customers through thoughtful design. The ideal candidate will have strong design skills, a portfolio of customer-centered designs, and a passion for designing and communicating our iconography strategy for each brand’s digital products and experiences.

You must be able to comprehend the many complex factors that govern vehicle design, from industry norms to multinational regulations and successfully navigate those factors as you design solutions.

Collaboration Skills – You’re a natural collaborator, welcoming ideas from any source and able to build on them to make the work of your team successful. You’re open to feedback, know how to give and receive critique, and how and when to defend design decisions.

Comfortable with Ambiguity – You are comfortable working in an environment where problems and solutions are often not well defined. You can handle change, shift gears comfortably, and decide and act without knowing the total picture.


  • Create an icon strategy and supporting visuals elements to be utilized for in-vehicle displays and controls, while clearly demonstrating customer-centered design principles

  • Create and manage the corporate iconography library that will communicate your work to those responsible for production development

  • Collaborate closely with team members to craft world standard l user experiences across all platforms and vehicle features

  • Represent the corporation in both ISO and SAE forums


  • 3+ years creating digital products, icons or complex software applications across a range of channels (e.g., embedded systems, mobile, web)

  • BA/BS degree or training in HCI, Human Factors, User-Centered Design, User Experience Design, Interaction Design, Visual Design, Product Design, or related

  • Strong portfolio with work samples showcasing expertise in iconography development

  • Experience incorporating user research into the design process

  • Strong visual, verbal, and written communication skills

  • Proficient in common design tools like Illustrator, Photoshop, and Sketch

  • Experience working on luxury brand products, particularly in the digital space
