Job Description

The Role

We are looking for an experienced, high-performing Software Integration Engineer to support the Automated Driving Compute Platform, who will be responsible for integrating both internally (GM) and externally (Supplier) developed software infrastructure for the ADAS controller at predefined release cadences. The position provides for a unique experience that includes the combination of integration of software builds and involvement in cutting edge technology. This experience includes exposure to high level management as well as opportunities to work with experts in the field of controls.


  • Integrate software infrastructure for advanced development silicon and production releases

  • Silicon and system bring-up; sensor integration and system configuration

  • Silicon set (machine learning accelerator, safety microcontroller, SoC) parametric evaluation and analysis

  • Assist development of software content and anomaly correction

  • Fault injection testing, integration and verification of software build

  • Actively manages controller resources

  • Verify Tier 1 SW deliveries and integration to meet ISO 26262 Part 6 & Part 4 for ASIL B & ASIL D software infrastructure

  • Oversee bench and instrumentation issues

  • Provides technical leadership for advanced technology development

  • Performs complex software design analysis

  • Communicates information to and from internal and external customer organizations

  • Stays abreast of new technology, debugging & instrumentation tools, microprocessors and software development processes

  • Primary GM engineering interface with the component suppliers

  • Knowledge of hardware and software interfaces

  • Travels as required

Additional Job Description


  • BS in Engineering, Physics, Math, or Computer Science

  • Minimum 2+ years of experience in a job-related area

  • 2+ years of experience with flash programing and utility files

  • 2+ years of experience with programing languages (C/C++, Assembly, Perl, Java), operating systems (Unix, Linux, RTOS for embedded system) and instrumentation (INCA, in circuit emulators, DSPACE)

  • 2+ years in designing and developing software using C++, preferably C++14

  • 2+ years’ experience with QNX

  • Integration of 3rd party software components

  • Experience with CI/CD systems

  • Knowledgeable about microprocessor design and theory

  • Knowledgeable about embedded system & software as it pertains to engineering

  • Knowledge and experience in control system integration and testing of hardware and software

  • Knowledge of hardware design and failure modes of electronic modules

Desired Skills

  • Master’s degree in Engineering or Computer Science

  • Knowledge of Adaptive Autosar

  • Design/Development of Safety Critical Systems/Components

  • Experience with Automated Driving sensors (Cameras, Lidars, Radars, Ultrasonic Sensors) a plus

  • Knowledgeable about ISO 26262 V&V, ASIL B to D

  • DFMEA training

  • DFSS Certification

  • Software Controls/wiring experience

  • Electronic Validation Experience
