Role Summary:

Responsible for programing a feature and or a small feature set. Contributes to the team and works with direction from Senior Team Members or management. The Software Engineer will work within a software development team responsible for designing, developing and deploying software solutions. Define system functionality using programming languages such as Javascript, Java and other related technologies.Execute the full lifecycle of software development following an Agile approach.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Has the ability to take ownership of tasks and deliver with minimal supervision.

  • Applies principles of SDLC and Lean/Agile/XP/TDD/CI/CD methodologies to deliver high quality, secured, and scalable software modules.

  • Skilled in writing code that meets standards and delivers desired functionality using the technology selected for the project.

  • Skilled in core data structures and algorithms

  • Perform coding, testing, documentation, implementation, and maintenance of information technology solutions for business processes

  • Collaborate with US, near-shore, and offshore based team members to deliver software solutions

  • Implement detailed functional and technical specifications required to satisfy business requirements

  • Provide functional and technical documentation

  • Troubleshoot, debug and upgrade software systems Qualifications/Requirements: Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or in “STEM” Majors (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math)

  • Demonstrated practice in developing software using technologies such as JavaScript, HTML5, CSS, Angular, REST, Java, JPA, Hibernate, JDBC, Spring, Gradle, Maven, Gulp, Grunt, GitEligibility Requirements:

  • Must be willing to travel up to 55

  • Must be willing to work out of an office located in Van Buren Township, MI Desired Characteristics:

  • Experience with JavaScript, CSS, HTML

  • Experience with Java

  • Understanding of backend systems and how to integrate with online services

  • Experience writing unit tests

  • Experience using a CI system to automate builds.

  • Understanding of TDD/BDD development

  • Understanding of GitHub and Git pull requests

  • Experience with analytics frameworks

  • Experience working in an Agile software development environment

  • Previous experience with Cloud development

  • Experience working with Polymer

  • Experience with NodeJS

  • Understanding of GitHub and Git pull requests

  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively across functions in a matrix environment.

  • Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to diplomatically advocate for the appropriate support staffing levels.
