Aptiv Vehicle Test Lead Project Owner in Troy, Michigan

divSHAPE THE FUTURE OF MOBILITY FROM DAY ONE.This position is part of our Advanced Safety and User Experience segment and is located in Troy, Michigan.Summary:This Project Owner role (similar to a traditional Lead role) is a technical lead for the test engineering aspects of an OEM ADAS/Autonomous Driving program. The team members will focus primarily on On-Road and Test-Track vehicle testing, including vehicle setup and instrumentation, safety sign-off, test execution, data analysis and more for one OEM program. The test scope may also include hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) and software-in-the-loop (SIL) testing pending scope of the particular program. The successful Project Owner has a self-starting mentality, strong sense of ownership, enjoys working on a variety of projects simultaneously and understands how to achieve a high level of "customer" satisfaction from engineering teams.Responsibilities and Duties:ulliLead all vehicle-level testing activities for a team of test engineers on a specific OEM program, including test scheduling, planning, test procedure generation, test execution, data analysis, and results and issue reporting./liliLead all vehicle integration testing and system checkout for Systems, Test and Software teams./liliWork hands-on with test engineers on the team, while providing technical direction, advice, and mentorship./liliCollaborate closely with corresponding Vehicle Systems Project Owner and their team to define features and requirements, and ensure they can be tested as defined./liliIndirectly lead technicians and drivers from other teams to help execute testing and vehicle preparation for the team's activities./liliPlan and prioritize program deliverables with Project and Product Owners in AGILE program iterations/liliThis role will be the primary contact point to OEM customer, and all internal teams, for testing matters related to the project, including regular presentations to OEM and internal customers regarding test plans, procedures, results and issues./li/ulNeed to Haves (Basic Qualifications):ulliBachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering/lili2+ years of vehicle-level testing experience in ADAS/Autonomous Driving, or 3+ years vehicle-level testing experience in one of the following areas: Durability/Reliability, Vehicle Dynamics, Homologation/lili1+ years of project leadership in an automotive testing environment/li/ulNice to Haves (Preferred Qualifications):ulliBasic working-knowledge of ADAS/Autonomous Vehicle technology/liliComfortable leading meetings with internal/external customer teams to plan activities, communicate test results and describe data in technical depth./liliExperience mentoring, coaching and leading a team of engineers/liliExperience in data analysis and/or vehicle integration/liliExperience working with remote Engineers, Technicians and Operators/Drivers/liliExperience working in an AGILE environment using Scrum or AutoScrum methodologies/liliExperience with NHTSA Levels 2-5 Autonomous Vehicles/li/ulTraits We're SeekingulliCuriously investigate everything - ability to solve problems analytically, creatively and collaboratively/liliLead with confidence - thought leaders who empower those around them/liliLearn by doing - an entrepreneurial mindset that's driven by hands-on experimentation/liliEmbrace resilience - seeing every challenge as a learning opportunity and invitation to grow/li/ul
