Purpose of Job

Maintains and monitor networking equipment, servers and applications on the wide area network. Participates in the implementation and ongoing support for corporate infrastructure across Nippon Seiki’s North American group companies (NSNA). Performs a variety of maintenance, software installation, end-user support and training tasks to ensure network performance meets the company and user requirements.

Major Duties/Responsibilities

  • Maintains and provides support of servers including physical hardware, SAN storage, VMware/Windows/Linux operating systems, and data backup systems.

  • Responsible for maintaining network monitoring and network security systems (DLP, antivirus, antimalware, etc.).

  • Maintains and provides support of networking technologies such as routing, switching, firewalls, wireless, and unified communications.

  • Assesses and identifies opportunities to the company’s technology environment and makes recommendations for implementation.

  • Proactively identifies and implements solutions to increase efficiency and improve enterprise systems.

  • Assists with the development, implementation of system standards, policies and procedures.

  • Acts as a technical escalation point for the support desk and other members of the IT team.

  • Participates in an on-call rotation for emergencies outside of business hours.

Education, Experience and Knowledge

Required and/or preferred level of education, knowledge and skills that are necessary.

Education

Bachelor’s Degree in related field; or equivalent applicable work experience

Related Experience

6+ years server operating system administration experience, including the latest versions of:

  • Microsoft Windows Server required

  • Linux server (Debian, Red Hat) highly desired

6+ years enterprise networking experience supporting the latest versions of some or all of the following:

  • Cisco ASA-X, IronPort, Nexus 3k/5k, Unified Communications, WLC, and general route/switch

  • EMC Avamar, Data Domain, SourceOne, and general disaster recovery practices

  • EMC VNX/VNXe and general storage, including iSCSI/FC/FCoE

  • RSA DLP

  • Solarwinds Orion, NPS

  • VMware View, vCenter, vSphere

Special Training or Competency Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) or higher certification preferred

Additional Information

Work Hours Monday-Friday, 8 am – 5pm. Off-hours as needed.

Travel Requirements 10% international and domestic
