Join the technology company that's transforming the future of mobility today.About this positionWe currently have an exciting opportunity for a Functional Owner - Algorithm Systems Engineer to identify production algorithm requirements and define interface and signals in our Active Safety department in our Troy, MI location.Responsibilities and Duties•Defines and releases Object tracking Specification document•Identify Object tracking, Scene perception, Sensor monitoring or sensor plausibility algorithm requirements together with customer requirements.•Defines all required interfaces and signals required for the function to meet customer requirements.•Collaborates with project team and with the various development areas (Software, and System Testing) in development of the functions.•Leads Functional development and ensures functional performance meets customer requirements.•Uses KPI matrices to measure and improve functional performance•Ensures test engineering performs required system validation and relevant system test requirements and scenarios meet customer requirements•Internal and external interface to the customer for system and function performance•Work innovatively and creatively within the group with a particular focus on protecting innovation•Decomposes customer functional requirements and defines compliance matrix in accordance to system capabilities and strategies.•Defines and releases Object tracking document•Having knowledge of the following algorithms: multi-sensor multi-target tracking, multi-sensor fusion, and situation assessment.•Lead customer contact for all development issues and assignments (external communication).Need to Haves (Basic Qualifications)•Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Physics, or Mathematics•1+ years' experience related design and development of object tracking, radar, vision, or scene perception in automotive industry.Nice to Haves (Preferred Qualifications)•Requirement based automotive system development experience.•Experience in system requirement.•System architecture and design.•Experience in Functional Safety (ISO 26262).•Understanding of automotive bus systems, including CAN and LIN.•Strong communication, presentation and moderation skills.Traits we seek•Curiously investigate everything - ability to solving problems analytically, creatively and collaboratively•Lead with confidence - thought leaders who empower those around them•Learn by doing - an entrepreneurial mindset that's driven by hands-on experimentation•Embrace resilience - seeing every challenge as a learning opportunity and invitation to growAptiv rewards and advantages•Competitive compensation with bonus potential•Competitive health benefits•401K with matching contribution•Learning and development opportunities•Discount programs with various manufactur
