The Chief Information Officer is the top Information Technology (IT) position accountable for defining and delivering IT capabilities across the enterprise to ensure overall information technology systems needs that support enterprise goals are met. The CIO has overall responsibility for the development, planning and execution of a cost-effective IT strategy that will support the company’s s strategic objectives and enhance technology capabilities across the organization. Helps the company move forward with advances in technology and methods of processing and managing information. The role reports to the Executive Vice President & President who also serves as the Global Staffing General Manager. The EVP & President oversees Global IT, Global Business Services and Global Service.

The Chief Information Officer's core functions include but are not limited to:

  • Responsible for the global information strategy and the role of technology as a business enabler, developing an IT strategy and roadmap, and lead the IT team and its business partners in effective execution

  • Ensure the overall information technology systems needs are met for the entire corporation, including all hardware, software, data, mobile computing and telecommunications

  • Plans for the company’s technology needs and addresses any tech-related problems

  • Responsible for overseeing all of the following functions: business systems analysis, application and systems programming, database design and administration, network engineering and administration, computer operations, telecommunications, and user support services

  • Build strong relationships with Kelly leaders across the enterprise, and develop a detailed understanding of the issues, challenges and opportunities that exist within the various groups

  • Serves as a leader and innovator for the information technology function

  • Determine investment priorities and risks for enterprise-wide IT initiatives, and focus efforts on those that will maximize Kelly’s return on investment

  • Analyze the costs, value and risks of information technology solutions to advise management and recommend actions

  • Ensure that current and future investments and solutions are aligned with Kelly’s strategic business objectives and goals

  • Lead the selection and implementation of suitable technology to streamline internal operations and optimize their strategic benefits

  • Lead the design and customization of technology systems and platforms to improve the customer experience

  • Monitor the industry for developing trends and proactively advise the senior management team on the emerging technologies and trends that are most relevant to the company's goals and evolving needs, and to discover ways the company can gain competitive advantage

  • Direct the design, planning, implementation, and maintenance of the computing infrastructure that supports the company’s operations and business applications.

  • Maintain oversight of all IT projects, ensuring that commitments are properly planned, staffed, monitored and reported

  • Oversee the enterprise information security program to ensure the integrity, confidentiality and availability of relevant data, including the prevention of cybersecurity attacks

  • Provide frequent updates to the CEO and the Audit Committee of the Board of Directors to ensure transparency and understanding of the function’s current strengths and opportunities, as well as projects and processes

  • Developing and providing leadership to employees of Kelly’s information technology organization; provide individuals with professional and personal growth where possible.

Required Skills/Experience:

  • The CIO must possess excellent knowledge of IT systems and infrastructure, strong initiative, collaboration skills, communication proficiency, problem-solving and analytical skills, as well as excellent management and leadership skills and strong business acumen

  • A minimum of 15 years of Information Technology experience, with at least 7 years of progressive leadership experience

  • Bachelor degree in Information/Computer Science, Engineering or related field required, Master’s degree preferred

  • Demonstrated experience driving digital transformation and business growth through innovation and the implementation of technology

  • Possesses solid knowledge in emerging technologies, and the ability to apply these in the service of the company’s key business goals

  • Background in designing/developing IT systems and planning IT implementation

  • Experience leading complex, major change initiatives; demonstrated skills in change management

  • Proficiency in establishing IT services framework and IT security policies

  • Solid understanding of data analysis, budgeting and business operations

  • Extensive project management and budget management skills and experience

  • Superior analytical and problem-solving capabilities

  • Mastery at establishing strategic service provider partnerships
