JOB DESCRIPTION:Field Application Engineers in Schneider Electric are highly motivated and pragmatic individuals who demonstrate excellent communication and relationship skills coupled with deep technical knowledge of the customer process as well as the Schneider Electric offer. They are able to understand complex industrial problems and have the ability to overcome diverse obstacles to develop and realize creative and effective solutions.This position involves designing Unity Pro logic applications to control automated machinery, discreet industrial processes, and process automation applications.As experts, Unity Application Engineers exhibit the following strengths:Operational Management (Vijeo Designer, Unity Pro, C#, Visual Basic, Modsoft, Modsoft Loadables, Concept, ClearSCADA, PL7 Pro, OFS), Telepace, RealFloSystem Software (UAG, PSX, System Libraries)Controls and Connectivity (PACs, Industrial networks, Ethernet Networks)Field Devices (Computers, PLCs, PACs, HMIs, VFD and Servo Motion Control, Instrumentation, CES, Motor Control and Management, RFID, Power meters, and third party products)Electrical panel design using AutoCADRESPONSIBILITIES:Perform a variety of electrical controls engineering assignments in developing and implementing productionrocess and controls methods to meet quality standards and exceed customer expectations in the most cost efficient manner.Develop PLC programs in Unity Pro (ladder diagram, structured text, function block diagram, and sequential function chart).Assist in start-up services, troubleshooting, and training for commissioned systems.Provide technical direction for complete project development including panel design support.Support project management with maintaining project scope, schedule, and budget .Work on complex problems where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of various factors.Interface with customer in determining/obtaining approval of proposed design, scheduling, and technical issues throughout a project.QUALIFICATIONS:BS or Technical Diploma in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent experience5 years of experience designing, implementing, troubleshooting, and commissioning HMI/PLC/VFD applications, especially with Schneider Electric productsExperience with industry standard communication protocols such as Modbus, OPC, Modbus TCP/IP and Ethernet IPExperience with integrating devices from multiple vendors into a packaged solutionExperience with the Industrial applications including Automotive and WW/W are highly desirableKnowledgeable in computer networking architectures, topologies, and hardwareProficient in the use of Microsoft operating systems and Office software applicationsExcellent verbal and written communication skillsAbility to work effectively independently and in group settings. Team oriented, self-motivated, and results drivenKnowledgeable in computer programming languages (VB, C#, C ) and HTML development is preferredStable work historyWillingness to travel to customer sites (approximately 30-40%)This position requires presence at customer sites, and as such, the candidate must be able to obtain necessary clearance and/or credentials to travel and comply with customer requirements for executing work on their site.
