Munson Medical Center Department Systems Coordinator - Central Billing Office in Traverse City, Michigan


Associate Degree in computer science, information technology systems, Health Services Administration, or related field; and at least (3) years’ experience in related field with advanced computer systems experience.

Proven ability in procedure development and documentation required, demonstrating statistical and process analysis.

Knowledge of MHC's automated information systems preferred.

Report writing knowledge and experience with Excel and Access required.

Practice Management System experience required. eClinical Works and NextGen strongly preferred.

Exemplary customer relation skills and proven ability to communicate effectively and accurately, verbally and in writing with all levels.

Must be able to work independently and prioritize projects and timelines within a flexible schedule.

Able to operate under frequent stressful conditions due to constantly changing requirements in health care. Understands the process of change and how it affects human behavior.

Staff training experience preferred.

Professional revenue cycle experience preferred.

Supports Central Billing Office and managerial decisions.

Assists with specific IS and software system product issues as they arise and provides input on new systems or upgrades.

Assists with facilitation of system upgrades in relation to all Practice Management software.

Assesses need for, develops, and implements continuing education on systems usage.

Designs quality reporting mechanisms in relation to department specific performance measurement indicators. Maintains database related to the reporting and tracking of these goals.

Performs software maintenance; communicating with vendors and payers for problem resolution.

May support a specific software application and provide backup support for other systems coordinators.

Coordinates testing for systems’ functionality on software for product changes/enhancements.

Serves as resource for process redesign within the Central Billing Office.

Monitors data collection issues and assists personnel in resolution of billing, registration, scheduling, technology, and customer service issues

Assists staff within Central Billing Office; providing education and system preparation for changing regulatory requirements.

Present a team oriented, leadership role, promoting vision, goal oriented direction and creativity within work teams.

Compiles and analyzes a broad cross section of detailed information regarding all department activities and assist in the development of procedures

Acts as a resource person for systems issues for the Central Billing Office.

Assumes accountability for on time delivery of assigned projects.

Assists Director with regard to data collection, and productivity reporting.

Takes responsibility to identify and develop skills necessary to meet requirements of new technologies.

Represents the Central Billing Office at inter and intra departmental meetings.

Performs other duties as assigned.
