EE Design Specialist
Are you an EE Design specialist with experience in Creo and ProE Cabling who's interested in supporting defense efforts? We're looking for someone with skills, experience and ability to: perform design and drafting of both electrical and mechanical aspects of electronic equipment along with the abilty to lay out printed circuit boards; design wiring harnesses; perform layout drawings and check schematic diagrams as supplied in rough form by electrical engineering, make wiring diagrams from schematic diagrams ( AND vice-versa).
Other responsibilities will be to:
Perform overall chassis and housing design/drafting, including overall system packaging.
Design front panels, chassis, brackets, card cages.
Assist in selection of components such as connectors, terminals strips, switches.
Produce schematic diagrams and/or CAD drawings for submission to customers, plant, operations or outside vendors to produce the specified wiring harnesses, printed circuit cards, mechanical support to batteries, LRU and generating elements specified to assemble a complete electronic device. Output must be able to be entered directly into data management configuration control.
Interpret and apply relevant policies and procedures.
Work as project coordinator enlisting the support of personnel from other functional groups.
Prepare material for and participates in peer reviews, consistent with engineering process guidelines.
A minimum of 4+ years experience; or relevant Bachelor’s degree or equivalent plus an additional 2 years experience. 4+years experience in Pro-E/Creo, Pro-Cabling
Associate Degree in a relevant technical discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Ability to support the design process from beginning to end including: preparing documents for and supporting the manufacture of test hardware, and ensuring necessary technical data packages are released.
Experienced in developing practical, economical solutions to design problems of moderate complexity and project impact.
Background of conducting studies with appropriate experimental procedures, equipment, and personnel.
Ability to assure designs meet specifications, standards, and performance requirements.
Understanding of and history of following engineering processes and best practices.
Capable of directing the related efforts of drafters, designers and associate engineers in completing more complex designs.
Ability to create and understand mechanical and electrical drawings.
Ability to apply basic EE concepts and formulas at the box and harness level.
Given a set of requirements, ability to release schematic diagrams, interconnect wiring diagrams, box designs, & assembly drawings.
Ability to use CAD schematic design / layout tools for complete simple designs.
Ability to independently design, test, integrate, and document simple assemblies.
Must have proficiency with basic PC tools such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Ideally will have some familiarity with technical applications, such as FEA.
