Kforce System Administrator 4 in Southfield, Michigan

Kforce is immediately seeking a full-time System Administrator 4 for our leading independent, end-to-end IT services client for a long-term project in Southfield, MI.Duties:

  • IT support relating to technical issues involving endpoint devices, including Laptops, Desktops, Thin Clients, Tablets, Scan Guns, Scanners, Printing Services and printing devices

  • Design, implementation, and support services for Microsoft related technologies, deployed on endpoint devices (images): Device Bios, Drivers, Windows OS (Win. 7 & 10), MS Office (2013 & 2016), additional utility and business applications

  • Responsible for development, testing & deployment of device image updates

  • Responsible for coordinating security patch and functional upgrades, release planning & certification

  • Configuration of HP Thin Client devices (Linux & Windows), Windows Tablets and Scan Guns

  • Responsible for administration of network printing services (CUPS, Thin Print)

  • Routinely working with end-users, engineers and 3rd party partners to fulfill change request, resolve problems and maintain platform/service SLA's

  • Responsible for managing the day-to-day administration, planning, and problem-solving for the endpoint devices

  • Ensure accurate maintenance of all documentation as it relates to configuration, processes, service records, asset inventories, topologies, administration manuals, job instructions, support contracts, etc.

  • Integrate with the team's on-call processes and procedures, working on a rotating basis, and respond to after-hours and weekend support calls

Additional Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Escalate service or project issues that cannot be completed within agreed service levels

  • 4-year college degree (preferred) in Computer Science, Management or other formal Technical Academic diploma program or related studies, 5 years of experience working in MS Windows, MS SccM and related endpoint technologies

  • Experience with the implementation and administration of Windows 10 OS, MS Office & related applications

  • Experience with network attached endpoint devices (Scan Guns, Scanners, Printers)

  • Working knowledge of Local and Wide Area Networks

  • Interpersonal skills: such as telephony skills, communication skills, active listening and customer care

  • Ability to multi-task and adapt to changes quickly

  • Technical awareness: ability to match resources to technical issues appropriately

  • Understanding of support tools, techniques, and how technology is used to provide IT services

  • Self-motivated with the ability to work in a fast-moving environment

  • Microsoft MCP, MCSA, or MCSE (preferred)
