An ideal candidate for this role has several years of product management or project experience in automotive, is degreed and ready to contribute at a high level.

The Wheel End Senior Product Manager is responsible for product planning and execution throughout the product life cycle. The Senior Product Manager will have primary responsibility for the development and execution of the North American wheel product strategy (U.S. & Canada) in coordination with global product and brand strategies. They are also responsible for driving growth and profitability within the North American segment via analyses, planning and coordination cross-functionally where required.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Development and execution of the wheel end product line strategy through product differentiation, share evaluation, pricing strategy, revenue growth, cost reduction, new coverage, forecasting and product enhancements

  • Identify wheel end business growth opportunities for DRiV aftermarket business through interaction with sales and customers while assisting in customer meetings to close pipeline opportunities

  • Lead cross-functional, global project teams to implement product and or other product related projects requiring cross functional execution with global team members

  • Develop and implement New Product Introduction (NPI) strategy for North America based on product line analyses

  • Understand competitive landscape, right to win and share growth strategies.

  • Monitor and report on key product management metrics weekly, monthly, quarterly against budget/targets such as product line and individual customer sales, margin, customer fill, and manage proactively to ensure positive trend towards achieving product lines goals and objectives

  • Coordinate with brand management develop and execute go-to market strategies and communication to the market

  • Work closely with engineering to define product specifications and enhancements according to strategic initiatives as well as internal and or customer requirements

  • Support customer requests regarding product questions and issues, lines reviews and updates

Required Experience

EDUCATION:Bachelor’s degree required. Masters in business, engineering or corresponding work experience is valued.

SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:

  • 6+ years of progressive work experience within, product management, purchasing, supply chain, business development, sales or engineering.

  • Project or Program Management experience, with demonstrated ability to develop, manage and successfully execute (on-time/on-budget) a cross-functional, global project using project management timelines and action plans

  • Strong computer skills (MS Office). SAP experience preferred

  • Strong analytical skills and financial acumen to analyze data in order to develop actions plans and or recommendations

  • Ability to communicate effectively in presentations and discussions with senior level executives, sales leaders and key customers

  • Commit, when required, to foreign and domestic travel up to 20% of working time.
