Safety Applications Engineer – Lear Corporation – Southfield, MI

Summary

This position is expected to design, develop, optimize mathematical algorithms for implanting safety applications in Vehicle To Vehicle and Vehicle To Infrastructure scenario. Ideal candidate for this position should apply data mining and machine learning principles to safety applications.

Duties:

  • Enhance existing algorithm or implement new algorithms for safety application
  • Come up with novel way to generate scenarios applicable to safety application
  • Enhance debugging capability and traceability of algorithm when the algorithm fails during live runs
  • Apply sensor fusions by combining inputs from various vehicle sensors and improve the accuracy
  • Implement relevant tools necessary to improve engineering debugging capability

Requirements / Qualifications:

  • Excellent mathematical background, particularly in 3D geometry
  • Experience in Kalman filters, MATLAB
  • Experience in machine learning techniques
  • Experience in Sensor Fusion
  • Experience in Computer Vision
  • GNSS / GPS experience is a plus
  • MS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or Electrical Engineering
  • 6-10 years professional engineering experience
