Tracking Code258939Job DescriptionPosition focusThe Manager of Network Engineering's role is to plan, organize, manage, and provide support to ensure the stable operation of the organization's Networking infrastructure. This includes documenting and promoting designated technical standards, piloting new technologies in coordination with architecture, and ensuring proper handoff to delivery and support organizations. This technical leadership position also is responsible for providing Level 3 support through individual subject matter expertise and leading team members.Technology within this focus area includes enterprise connectivity systems including LAN/WAN/Wireless, WAN Acceleration, Network Access Control, and Load Balancers.Position Responsibilities•Understand the business and customer needs to introduce solutions that solve business problems.•Stay abreast of technical trends and potential Lear applicability; promote opportunities.•Manage a team of network engineers and SMEs working with our vendors and network operations team to build, scale, deploy and support our enterprise network infrastructure•Document and promote designated technical standards and pilot the technology•Devise standard bill of material for local sites to source using preferred regional suppliers•Lead the evaluation and selection of Network products•Work closely with enterprise architecture to ensure alignment plans•Ensure that industry best practices are incorporated into standard solutions delivered•Lead the resolution of level 3 incidents, problems, changes, release management efforts to ensure high levels of customer service•Embrace and implement standard configuration and change management processes and practices.•Negotiate with vendors, outsourcers, and contractors to secure network-specific products and services.•Collaborates across IT and business teams to ensure client satisfaction•Manages service delivery performance through SLAs and other key performance metrics•Possess advanced technical knowledge of the assigned technologies, and transferring this knowledge to IT Operations either by identifying required training, or transferring knowledge via person-to-person instruction.•Manage operational costs; conduct near- and long-term financial forecasts for expanded functionality/user base.•Establish and maintain regular written and in-person communications with the organization's executives, decision-makers, stakeholders, department heads, and end users regarding pertinent infrastructure activities.Personal Attributes•Ability to make sound and logical judgments.•Demonstrated leadership and personnelroject management skills.•Good understanding of the organization's goals and objectives.•Strong interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills.•Ability to perform general mathematical calculations for the purpose of creating needs assessments, budgets, and so on.•Able to conduct research into issues and products as required.•Ability to prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment and make sound decisions in emergency situations.•Ability to present ideas in a user-friendly language.•Highly self-motivated and directed.•Keen attention to detail.•Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities.•Strong customer service orientation.•Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.Knowledge Experience
