McLaren Health Care Revenue Cycle Systems Analyst in Shelby Township, Michigan

Description

The Revenue Cycle Analyst II is responsible and proficient in the review and improvements of all aspects of the Revenue Cycle. This includes the monitoring of Revenue Cycle systems, development of reports and data sets, analyzing revenue, identify root causes and proficient in recommending design improvements.

The Revenue Cycle Analyst II will report directly to Patient Access.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

  1. Responsible for more than two (2) Analyst job assignments in the CBO

  2. Accountable for at least one Patient Financial Services Activity:

  • Data Extraction

  • Data Analysis

  • System or Software Administration

  • Reporting and Tracking

  1. Analyze front-end delays and problems related to complete and accurate information needed for timely billing.

  2. Monitor and improve the insurance verification and point of service collection process.

  3. Work with clinical managers in the hospitals to identify and improve the accuracy and timeliness of charge entry and bill generation for their line of business.

  4. Proficient in identifying trends and recommends and implements appropriate improvements in the revenue cycle.

  5. Knows, understands, incorporates, and demonstrates the McLaren Health Care/Affiliate Vision, Mission, and Values.

  9. Planning/Organization; shows organizational skills through effective planning and delegating. Constantly seeks opportunities to have the Department work more efficiently and effectively.

  10. Financial Management; manages department and budgets within specified parameters. Consistently contributes to sound financial practices.

  11. Assists the Director in projects.

  12. Develops and implements policies and procedures.

  13. Proficient and knowledgeable of the Revenue Cycle computer system and maintains related profiles, tables and procedure manuals.

  14. Ensures the Director is informed timely of the status of all operations and is made aware of issues that would impact negatively.

Qualifications

Minimum:

  • Bachelor’s degree required or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience may be acceptable

  • Two to three years related revenue cycle experience or two to three years consulting in systems or training for data analytics

  • Proven skills in Microsoft Office, specifically Excel and Word, Window based applications, and 10 key calculator with high level of quality outcomes

Preferred:

  • Working knowledge of CPT, HCPCS, and ICD-10

  • Two to three years’ experience in hospital financial services or patient service.
