The objective of the Student Programs at Nexteer Automotive is to select students with high potential and provide them with "real world" work experiences. Work assignments expose students to many of the company’s products, processes, procedures, problems, resources, staff areas and people so that they become aware of the career opportunities at Nexteer Automotive. Assignments are designed to assimilate acquired classroom education with actual hands-on work experience in a technical environment. In addition, Nexteer Automotive gains the opportunity to find new talent to enhance productivity.
Job Requisition Introductory Paragraph:
This position will allow the Student to facilitate business processes within the Steering Column Product Line. Position includes the use of software tools to generate reports and presentations for management review, and many other roles.
Primary Job Responsibilities:
Use software tools to generate reports for management
Develop and maintain a PowerPoint file of steering column and intermediate shaft standard presentation slides suitable for customer presentations
Transfer CAD data to customers and suppliers
Support and maintain databases
Create purchase requisitions for procuring products and services
Assist in other tasks as they arise
Candidate must be working toward Bachelors in Business or IT
Candidate must be able to work 20-32 hours during Fall and Winter semesters
Up to 40 in the summer
Must have cumulative 3.5 GPA minimum
Must have experience with various software packages and an ability to quickly learn new tools. Power BI experience would be helpful.
Candidate must be able to work with little direction within some aspects of the job; coaching will be readily available within other aspects.
Candidate must be fast to respond to all requests and adjust work schedule as necessary
Must be a full-time student (12 or more credits) during Fall and Winter semesters
Candidate must have right to work in the US and not require current or future sponsorship
