Beaumont Health System Access Control Technician in Royal Oak, Michigan
GENERAL SUMMARY: Design, create, and maintain the system of all hospital identification badges for employees, physicians, students, volunteers, and others. Control authorized access into assigned facilities, secured areas, and designated parking with computer access codes and issuance of hospital keys.ESSENTIAL DUTIES: Create ID badges, including granting appropriate access clearance on the computer system, and maintain the card data base. Issue hospital mechanical keys, and maintain the signature card file of key holders. Input data to the security system to upgrade user's privilege levels of approved access into controlled areas and buildings.Provide statistical information pertaining to all activities of the Access Control department and the types of transactions completed.Perform key audits as required, follow up on employee terminations and subsequent recovery of assigned keys.Perform data audits to review authorized levels of security and/or parking clearances.Design, program changes, and maintain the ID badge system.STANDARD QUALIFICATIONSHigh school diploma.Familiarity with security access control operations. Minimum 1-year experience. Other Qualifications: Strong PC skills, with Windows applications. Strong problem-solving skills are required. Must be capable of making decisions based on good judgment, and must use discretion in handling confidential information. Good customer relation skills are required. Requires an in-depth knowledge of hospital policies, security procedures, and understanding of the various computer systems used. Must enforce rules and regulations while providing service to staff.
