CURRENT OPPORTUNITY: Senior CNC Controls Engineer

Our innovative technologies and proven expertise help manufacturers in the Americas to be more efficient, reliable and profitable. We are currently seeking aSenior CNC Controls Engineerin our ROBODRILL Segment at the North American Headquarters in Rochester Hills, Michigan. Primary responsibilities include:

  • Provide product and application support for the ROBODRILL CNC Machine product line, including the development of new products and applications.

  • Develop, implement & troubleshoot FANUC CNC control including software options, Ladder logic, custom PMC applications and interfaces.

  • Support sales, technical assistance, setup, programming, troubleshooting and repairing of ROBODRILLS and peripheral devices.

  • Support service and parts organizations to provide after sales solutions to customers and provide product technical assistance when troubleshooting and repairing ROBODRILL machines and other product offerings.

  • Develop & Support FANUC CNC PMC functions & applications

  • Provide Custom PMC Programming & application support.

  • Resolve PMC & Control issues for internal & external customers.

  • Integrate Robots & peripheral equipment to ROBODRILL CNC cells

  • Develop and support segment demos & Trade shows by providing CNC controls support & custom application development.

  • Review documentation for ROBODRILL products.

  • Identify product concerns and limitations and manage the resolution of all critical issues

  • Provide timely updates back to FAC/FHQ including any incidental service issues that may arise during implementation and or testing of ROBODRILL products.

  • Provide prompt, professional and courteous solutions to FAC/FHQ of problems found during testing or implementation of ROBODRILL product. Be able to troubleshoot problems and secure parts as needed.

  • Provide technical support to various parts of FAC including Hotline, PSG, and other segments. Provide training for Service, Application or any FANUC Engineers.

  • Develop specifications for new products.

  • Develop Application guidelines for existing and new products.

Ideal candidate will have the following experience and education:

  • Bachelor degree in engineering field or related degree, or equivalent technical experience.

  • Minimum 5 years of experience with CNC Controls & Machines.

  • Prior FANUC CNC PMC experience required

  • Integrating CNC with Robots & Peripheral Equipment preferred.

  • Experience trouble shooting & solving technical issues

  • Deep understanding of FANUC CNC systems and operations

  • Extensive knowledge of FANUC CNC Control options and features

  • Extensive knowledge & experience with FANUC Ladder III Programming

  • Senior to Expert level experience with FANUC PMC advanced functional instructions

  • Senior Level experience and knowledge with FANUC iHMI applications

  • Advanced Knowledge & experience with Servo Guide & wave form diagrams

  • Advanced knowledge of servo motion control

  • Strong Electronics & Electrical Background

  • Exposure to Robot interface & FANUC picture

  • Have a good understanding of the machine tool industry standards and practices.
