You will work closely with technical and business leads from multiple areas representing a diverse and robust array of surgical instrumentation, such as imaging, visualization, navigation, robotics, and various powered smart instrumentation. What You Will Do
You will conduct or design prototyping and bench testing.
You will conduct problem solving, identify potential solutions, and evaluate them against component and sub-system requirements.
You will conduct research and studies to support product design.
You will translate design inputs to engineering specifications and produce component and sub-system level designs.
You will code development time/resource estimation to support projects.
You will design new components applying various design concepts.
You will generate and review the necessary documents with project teams (requirements, design, architecture, bugs, test).
You will demonstrate advanced understanding of customer needs and design inputs.
You will demonstrate proficiency with product’s intended use and clinical procedures.
You will learn how the financial models are constructed.
You will collaborate with R&D, Quality, Manufacturing, Regulatory, Clinical, Marketing and Project Management to ensure project success.
You will work on complex problems, applying advanced experience and learnings.
What You Need
Bachelor's degree in Software Engineering/ Computer Science or related discipline &
2+ years of work experience with C, C++ or similar in an embedded environment
What We Would Love That You Have (Preferred)
Experience with integrated development environments (IDE) for projects.
Experience with software tools for static/dynamic analysis, memory management, code coverage and techniques for analyzing software.
Integration and deployment processes experience using C/C++, Python, Linux, RTOS, VxWorks, Matlab, Shell Scripting, Assembly, dc/bldc, Communication Protocols (SPI, I2C, 1-wire, etc…).
Experience in creating estimates for code implementation time/resource for assigned tasks.
Experience in Software Development Life Cycle processes.
Experience using Application Lifecycle Management /Traceability tools.
Experience with regulatory and compliance standards applied to the SDLC (Software Development Life Cycle).
Understanding of the theory and methods of embedded software design and the ability to apply them under minimal supervision while demonstrating:
Proficiency in designing, developing, coding, testing, debugging and maintenance of embedded software
Ability to analyze and enhance efficiency, stability and scalability of the embedded system resources.
Ability to prototype and bench test designs.
Proficiency in writing device drivers from scratch or debugging/enhancing device drivers on an embedded processor.
Expertise in problem solving, root cause analysis, identify potential solutions, and evaluate them against requirements.
Proficiency in conducting research and studies to support product design.
