Location/Division Specific Information

The ERP IT Director, ETO is responsible for the successful multi-year global delivery and organizational integration of the Pharmaceutical Services Group's (PSG) Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system solution for operations.

How will you make an impact?

Lead the ETO SAP Team to deliver day to day excellence in service across all aspects of SAP such as incident management, enhancements, projects, training for super users, overseeing work by third party contractors, responsible for change/release management. Work closely with the business and IT leadership teams serving as an expert resource, bringing forth opportunities to leverage the ERP solution to support the efficient running and growth of our organization. Drive a coordinated approach to define, own, and implement the ERP strategy across PSG.

What will you do?

  • Work with leadership to align priorities, implement projects within budget & schedule, and deliver business outcomes. This will include using internal and external resources for implementation, as well as working as part of a greater PSG IT & ETO team to deliver an integrated solution.

  • Own and Oversee Technical Configuration Work: Ensure ERP design & configuration work is based on a well-developed ERP solutions architecture, business, functional & technical requirements. Ensure effective ownership and execution of an agile based systems development lifecycle methodology

  • ERP Business Owner and Executive Sponsor Decision Making Process: Support and prepare for ERP Steering Committee Meetings. Works as a part of the IT leadership team on the ERP direction, assuring process, people and technology alignment.

  • Provide Implementation Partner Engagement Management Oversight: Working with the ERP project manager, conduct management level relationship management with ERP implementation vendors and other third party consulting partners to assure strategic goals are met and maintained to drive the best cost effective solution.

  • Provide Technical and Functional Leadership of the ERP Team: Coach, mentor, and influence technical and business core team members. Ensure domain-specific project management tasks for the ERP program are being effectively conducted.

  • Understand business drivers and business capabilities (current and future state) and determine corresponding ERP solution architecture design and change requirements to drive targeted business outcomes. Provide subject matter expertise and leading edge-thinking on trends, methodologies, tools, and techniques that will be useful to ERP program activities. Partner with the various IT teams for integration with other solutions and data architecture.

  • Oversee ERP Deployment Planning and Rollout: Work with the Core Team, IT, Business Leadership and implementation vendors to create a comprehensive ERP deployment and rollout strategy and plan. Oversee the effective rollout of the global ERP solution.

  • Lead the use of SAP across the organization by building and sustaining a SME/Super User Community across all sites. Ensure our team works collaboratively with our user community to support them and ensure skills are sustained across all our 3000+ user community.

  • Lead and build ETO SAP team to deliver excellence in results on a day-to-day basis. This will be across our SAP landscape (including ECC6.0, S4 HANA, IBP) and extends from functional to security, basis and ABAP support.

  • Provide ERP Change Management Oversight: Ensure change management is effectively planned and managed and that stakeholder engagement, communication, and required training is effectively executed. Ensure the change management plan is fully integrated into ERP deployment planning and rollout strategy and plan.

How will you get here?

Experience / Education

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Business Information Systems, or related field required

  • 10 or more years of experience in ERP systems implementation and operations, preferably in the life sciences or pharmaceuticals sector

  • Successfully led at least two global full-lifecycle ERP implementations utilizing SAP

  • Three to five years of leadership responsibility managing mid to large teams and influencing key stakeholders

Project and/or program management certification and/or lean process improvement (i.e. Six Sigma) certification is preferred Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

  • Strong understanding of financial, manufacturing and supply chain operational process flows (i.e. order to cash, procure to pay, record to report), conceptually and within the SAP ECC6.0 and S4 HANA Environments

  • Ability to develop strong partnership within business and IT communities. Self-motivated problem solver who can address and develop strategies for achieving the needs of the user community. Drive operational efficiency via key business processes within the scope of ERP to achieve successful business results.

  • Effective verbal, written and interpersonal skills. Ability to speak to technical staff and develop written reporting and presentation content with appropriate messaging

  • Encourages and facilitates cooperation, results orientation and collaboration amongst team

  • Demonstrated ability to work in a matrix environment, particularly in cross-functionality teams across multiple lines of business

  • SOX Experience is required to support external financial audits yearly

  • Experience using project management software tools, such as MS Project, Jira, etc. to effectively lead, manage, monitor and control project activities

  • Excellent project management skills, with demonstrated track record of applying program management principles, practices and techniques with a strong results orientation

  • Ability to work remotely with business partners given the current health emergency; in normal times travel is required and can amount to 25%

  • Own and develop SOPs that apply to our solution set.
