The LSTE is a new position within GPEV and is integral to our teams success executing system-level validation on time with quality. The skills learned in this role will be used for the rest of your career regardless of your career path.As stated, it's a very hands-on position with a broad range of responsibilities including: developing new and/or special validation tests and fixtures, setting test priorities for the team, helping Validation Engineers root cause and debug new test setups, understand operation basics of all test article variants, and understanding calibration basics and their effect on hardware, just to name a few.In addition to the hands-on responsibilities, the LSTE will be the conduit between the Lead Validation Engineer (LVE), laboratory operations, calibration and the Validation Engineers and coordinate the usage of various lab resources globally. The LSTE will learn leadership skills and will be engaged in programs throughout the development lifecycle. Creative people with a passion for leading teams, hands on testing, and root causing issues are encouraged to apply.Main deliverables include: Maintain test article open issues list, send daily test status to leadership, review and approve Unit Under Test limits, approve reliability calculations and duty cycle generation before Start Of Test.Key Responsibilities: * Develop / oversee development of new validation tests including scripting support and request* Develops / root causes dyno calibrations to support validation testing locally and globally* Utilizes analytical tools in validation process* Perform and support root cause analysis and correction of system level problems relating to hardware validation* Conduct first of build phase critical hardware testing* Coordinates and consults with various departments outside engineering* Stays abreast of new technology and competitive products* Maintain test article open issues list* Mentor and train new and/or less-experienced colleaguesAdditional Job DescriptionMinimum Requirements: * Bachelor of Science in Engineering (Mechanical, or Electrical preferred)* 5 years of relevant experience* Demonstrated excellence in communication and collaboration in a diverse team environment* Demonstrated adaptability and ability to change with program modifications/updates* Demonstrated ability to complete vague and ambiguous assignments with minimal guidance* Willing to gain specific training from a variety of people / techniquesb
