Job Description

Robert Bosch LLC is looking for a Technical Project Manager at our Plymouth, MI location.

Technical project management for North American driver assistance projects with focus on Ultrasonic Park Assistance systems including autonomous parking features for Advanced Driver Assist Systems (ADAS) such as APA - Autonomous Park Assistance, PSC - Park Steering Control, SDW - Side Distance Warning, POC - Pull Out Control, BSM - Blind Spot Monitoring, MEB - Manouver Emergency Braking, etc.

This position includes, but not limited to, the following responsibilities:

  • Lead an entire development team including software developers, application / calibration engineers and sub-system / component project managers to develop project specific solutions. Technical lead of hardware engineering and manufacturing plant, where applicable.

  • Plan and maintain project budget and schedule.

  • First point of contact as technical customer interface and engineering lead for customer projects.

  • Lead system development, validation, and delivery according to guidelines and processes (e.g. ISO26262, ASPICE).

  • Coordinate vehicle application/calibration/tuning of sensor-based algorithms both in vehicle and lab/offline environments.

  • Report project status to management in US and Germany.

  • Work package definition and tracking, release planning, resource planning, quality assurance according to Bosch Driver Assistance process landscape.

  • Ensure customer requirements elicitation, management and tracking is effective, including test coverage

  • Lead the root cause analysis of defects during the development phase to understand the scope and adapt project plan accordingly.

  • Organize internal and customer meetings (domestic and international trips).


Base Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in an engineering discipline.

  • 2 or more years of experience in technical project management.

  • 2 or more years of experience in automotive electronics development and delivery.

  • 1 or more years of vehicle networking and diagnostics, hands-on (mechanical or electrical) type of experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Strong leadership and a personal sense of ownership for all facets of a project.

  • Highly self motivated and willingness to dive right in.

  • Strong sense of responsibility and commitment, innovative thinking.

  • Experience in systems / requirements engineering. Experience with vehicle and system test and release procedures in automotive or related industry.

  • Knowledge of driver assistance sensor technologies and functions, high interest to work on exciting new driver assistance technologies.

  • Good written / verbal communication and presentation skills to discuss issues / solutions with team and external customer.

  • Good understanding of vehicle architecture and driver assistance Interfaces.

  • Ability to structure, moderate and promote collaboration with international teams, negotiate with customer, support global organization, and understanding with working in global multicultural projects.

  • Professional automotive software engineering exposure/experience.

  • Undertanding or interest in Agile development methods (SCRUM, Kanban, Lean, etc.)

  • Capable to work independently in an organized and structured fashion with strong analytical skills that supports a systematic approach to problem resolution and strong communication skills to discuss issues/challenges with global development teams and external customers.
