Job Description

Robert Bosch LLC seeks an Application Calibration Engineer at its facility located at 15000 Haggerty Road, Plymouth, MI 48170. Responsible for vehicle testing and application / calibration for radar based driver assistance functions. These can include adaptive cruise control (ACC) and automatic emergency braking (AEB), Pedestrian / Cyclist Protection (AEB-VRU), as well as advanced functions like traffic jam assist (TJA), highway assist (HWA). Responsible for radar vehicle integration, debugging / troubleshooting using automotive development tools such as CANalyzer, CANape and Matlab, Responsible for bench and vehicle testing (public road and test track). Perform in-vehicle and simulation/bench performance calibration of radar sensor based algorithms to meet both objective and subjective customer and Bosch performance specifications. Responsible for evaluating customer specifications, translating to system requirements in Rational DOORS, evaluate requirements and test coverage, and support issue / defect tracking. Define and document test cases / test strategy, analyze and document test data / results. Recommend software / logic changes for performance issues that cannot be solved via parameter tuning. Support system development, validation, and delivery activities according to Bosch guidelines. Support test drives with customer - Organize / Execute performance evaluation and validation test trips. Act as a point of contact for OEM for application topics and prepare technical presentations for customer. Train/mentor interns and co-ops. Support technical project management tasks. Travel Requirements: 15% domestic and international travel required. REQS: This position requires a Bachelor’s degree, or foreign equivalent, in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Automobile Engineering, or related degree, plus 3 years of work experience in vehicle / system testing and release procedures in the automotive industry. Additionally, the applicant must have professional experience with: (1). Ability to navigate and write coding where required with C/C++; (2). Agile development methods (SCRUM, Kanban, Lean, etc.); (3). Driver Assistance and/or Automated Driving fields; (4). Vehicle architecture and driver assistance Interfaces; and (5). Vehicle networking and diagnostics, hands-on (mechanical or electrical). Apply below.
