The Systems Engineer will be responsible for the planning and engineering of the organization’s systems infrastructure, including the implementation and design of hardware and software. This role will also support the operation, maintenance, administration, and problem resolution of hardware, applications, and services within the infrastructure core technologies. Support of non-datacenter hardware, applications, and services to be assigned as needed. Participate in overall implementation of business systems strategies by supporting Azure maintenance, server networking, business continuity, and security implementations.

Essential Functions:

  • Plan and lead concurrent datacenter project initiatives, coordinating with internal stakeholders and outside resources as needed.

  • Develop, maintain and publish IT infrastructure standards, roadmaps, architecture, policies and procedures and other internal technology documentation.

  • Effectively use cloud and on-prem infrastructure monitoring and performance management tools to improve availability and security.

  • Collaborate cross-functionally to coordinate and implement IT SaaS systems maintenance and upgrades.

  • Participate in on-call production support activities.

  • Provide 3rd level support to IT infrastructure technologies including virtualization, storage, network and server, security and client environments and escalate to third party as needed.

  • Ensure compliance and security according to corporate policies and auditing.

  • Create and maintain back end processing using PowerShell Scripting or other scripting languages and automation practices.

Minimum Job Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science/Information Technology required or equivalent work-related experience.

  • Minimum 2 years of relevant IT infrastructure experience.

  • Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in client and end user systems preferably with Microsoft Windows Server/Client family of operating systems.

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in networking and wireless technologies.

  • Minimum 3 years of experience with Microsoft Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and group policy.

  • Familiarity with the following concepts:

  • Load balancers

  • Secure connectivity

  • Cloud computing and networking

  • Wireless networking

  • Storage

  • Industry specific Microsoft/Azure certification in one or more of the following areas; is preferred but not required: CISSP or any security certification, Microsoft

Other Skills and Abilities Qualifications:

  • Excellent customer service skills with both internal and external customers.

  • Capable of working with frequent interruptions and changing priorities.

  • Must have knowledge and understanding of all current state and local regulations.

  • Effective communication skills, written, verbal and interpersonal.

  • Proficient time management, organizational skills and ability to meet established deadlines

  • Identity Management, ADFS and Azure AD, Directory Services, DNS, DHCP and Certificate Management

  • Knowledge of virtualization technologies, SCCM, encryption (BitLocker), ServiceNow management

  • Proficient with ITIL change, incident, configuration management and capacity planning.
