ResponsibilitiesThe Field Service Technician reports to the Director of Technical Services Warranty and performs different types of support at the customer’s location, such as troubleshooting, setup, and installation of systems and equipment. Daily work logs and service tickets must be filled out and accurate, and there is an element of end user and owner basic training to the position. Technicians work face to face with customers on a regular basis.Major Areas of Responsibility•Provide best in class customer service and ensuring customer satisfaction with our material handling systems at all times.•Troubleshoot technical difficulties, including PLCs, collaborate with design engineers to ensure appropriate resolutions and counter measures are implemented to prevent future difficulties.•Ability to manage time, projects, follow up and to contribute to team and corporate goals as needed to ensure successful results.•Summarize customer difficulties and related activities and resolutions with written reports, using a template, in the time frame required and per company standards.Knowledge•Know the capabilities and functionality of a PLC (prefer allen Bradley or proface).•Knowledge of Microsoft Suite of tools. QualificationsSkills Abilities•Read and utilize mechanical electrical schematics to assist in troubleshooting and resolution of mechanical and electronic components•Troubleshoot and repair minor mechanical problems.•Work alone and be a self-starter with minimal management.•Follow electrical prints defining power and signal wiring.•Personal interaction and communication skills to interface with engineers, managers and the customer, to affect business results successfully.•Availability to travel (road warrior level) and accommodate a customer’s needs as they arise on and off shiftEducation Experience•Two years (minimum) experience in troubleshooting mecha-tronics, electromechanical and/or mechanical equipment, or equivalent.•Working experience with troubleshooting PLC's.•Associates degree in a mechanical, electrical, or mechanical technician program or equivalent education preferred.•Work experience with material handling equipment, preferred, with service experience related to automated material handling systems is strongly preferred.•This position requires availability to travel on short notice and spend more than 80% of the time traveling.•This position requires on call assignments and travel to customer sites as needed, at times on short notice.•This position requires weekends, holidays and off shifts work at times.Demonstrated Physical AbilitiesRemain stationary for 50% of the time; move/traverse throughout the office to access file cabinets and office equipment; operate a computer and oth
