Your task will be to correlate subjective and objective measures of vehicle handling, interacting with system designers and embedded software developers. The VCU controls main BEV truck functions and all subsystems, including but not limited to BMS, powertrain, DC/DC, OBC, HVAC, cooling, brakes and power steering. Your workplace will be very dynamic, fast-paced and will include many different tasks, from the development of control algorithms to supporting embedded software engineers, right through to assisting commissioning. You can expect to learn everything about the architecture of electric vehicles and experience first-hand the integration and start-up of the systems.PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESDesign and develop control algorithms for electric vehicle systems using model-based software.Create control documentation, software requirements implement them into the controllers/vehicles.Requirements engineering, design, coding up to testing their SW on test-benches and/or on the real vehicleDevelop Software Unit test HiL test procedures and toolsTesting and debugging system behaviour in collaboration with System EngineersDeveloping automotive software solutions in an Agile development practice with TDDWork on cross-functional teams, collaborate and effectively communicate within your development teamWork on special projects as assignedEDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONSMinimum Bachelors Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Control Systems or related field requiredMinimum 5 years of experienceExperience in the automotive industry; focus on control engineeringStrong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to build relationships with all functions and levels across the organizationMulticore software development or system design experience in automotive (preferred)AGILE/SAFe development experience (preferred)Control related training or certifications (preferred)SKILLS AND COMPETENCIESStrong MATLAB and Simulink knowledgeStrong control knowledge of control theory and PID implementationStrong interpersonal skills to work with people at all levels within and outside Dana in a professional manner.Ability to multi-task effectively on projects and assignmentsAbility to work effectively under pressure in order to meet deadlines and goalsA team player, who is both flexible and creative in their approach to problem-solvingExcellent written, verbal and presentation skills required in English.
