Summary.The Senior Design Release Engineer – Chassis

Systems is the primary liaison between the customer and the project

specifications, to ensure new or modified products are able to be manufactured,

meet customer specifications, and maintain company standard, in addition to

supporting internal departments in order to support business development,

capacity and continuity.

Position Responsibilities:

•Lead and provide product support to customers

internally and externally for production and prototype builds.

•Manage overall relationship with engineering

customers and provide the primary interface for design and development of

Chassis Systems.

•Coordinate different projects using fastener/joint

analysis and testing.

•Responsible for interpreting the customer’s

specifications and requirements related to the chassis system and associated

components.

•Coordinates/expedites orders and shipments for

prototype and development parts, initiates build programs and releases parts to

the customer for production.

•Communicates customer information and requirements

to and from organizations outside engineering and project team.

•Direct the release and maintenance of Bill of

Materials (BOMs) with customers.

•Create and maintain “transition sheets” with customer.

•Responsible for coordination, planning and

execution of DFMEAs, DVP&Rs, CAE analysis, and all other design/release

documents. (system, subsystem, & component).

•Provide assistance in the APQP process, PFMEAs,

Control Plans & VA/VE

•Responsible for maintaining the Open Issues List

for the assigned project and attends regular meetings with the customer.

•Prepare/summarize reports/data for customer and

internal presentation.

•Participate in problem solving and recommend

corrective action.

•Confer with project team to develop work plans and

prioritize tasks.

•Comply with all applicable ZF Group Directives,

Group and Local Procedures.

•Participate in continuous improvement programs.

•Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, formal training, reviewing professional publications, establishing and expanding professional networks, and participating in professional societies.

Essential

Skills and Experience:

•B.S.

in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, Computer/Software Engineering, or related

field

•7-8+years of

experience and leading technical projects

• Ability to interface with key customers, cross-functional teams, and all

levels of personnel/management.

•Experience in DFMEA’s and

DVP’s.

• Strong problem solving and analytical skills

• Strong verbal and written communication skills

• Ability/willingness to travel both domestically and internationally (up to

25%)

Preferred

Skills and experience:

•Master’s Degree

in Engineering

•Experience in

Automotive industry
