Position Overview
The Portfolio Manager will play a critical role in defining the portfolio and GTM strategy for Autodesk Data and Process solutions. The candidate will support his/her peers in driving a consistent portfolio strategy, preparing internal reviews, and supporting business strategy GTM efforts.
The candidate needs to be a strong team player who is comfortable working in distributed and virtual teams. It’s important that this person can effectively develop plans, write concisely and is a coalition builder. He/she must have the appropriate skills to work across a matrixed-organization and can easily defend positions from a data perspective while mediating opposing views. The candidate must be an effective communicator and strategic thinker who will embrace a collaborative atmosphere with the cross-functional teams across Autodesk.
Responsibilities
Develops his/her vision and strategic plan around the data and process portfolio
Executes on portfolio changes
Identifies product & technology opportunities, dependencies, gaps and risks
Works with product & industry strategy teams to jointly identify opportunities for portfolio optimization
Conducts internal and external research on the market, competitors and customer personas
Identifies partnerships and potential acquisitions to support the strategic plan
Monitors business performance for the portfolio
Maintains close customer relationships to effectively represent the voice of the customer with respect to offer price, package, position and business models
Serves as main internal point of contact and builds strong internal partnerships with Product Management/Product Line Group Leaders and Sales/Channel teams
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelors degree or 6+ yrs of equivalent work experience
Knowledge of subscription and consumption business models, cloud and SaaS technology and business landscape
Preferred Qualifications
Excellent written & verbal communication skills and proven ability to communicate complex technical concepts to a non-technical audience.
Passion for technology and knowledge of software, IT and technology trends
Demonstrate effective communication skills
Excellent interpersonal skills required in order to build success in a matrix management organization
Background in PDM, PLM, and Process solutions is helpful
