The Graphic Quality Technician will review and proofread completed computer-generated artwork for quality related issues.
Day-to-Day Role:
Proofread completed printed product artwork for proper construction and associated paperwork for proper completion
Proofread completed line drawings, film and carton artwork for proper construction and associated paperwork for proper completion
Inform department Artists of any corrections necessary to submitted artwork
Maintain records of submitted artwork projects and associated corrections. Generate monthly quality issue report to identify areas of improvement
Collaborate with team members to develop and implement process improvements as needed to maximize quality and efficiency
Maintain documentation of standard operating procedures of position responsibilities and train back-up operator
Core Skills & Qualifications:
Associate's Degree in Graphic Design, Computer Graphics, Illustration, Commercial Art, or related field
Three (3) years of experience with Adobe Illustrator software
Experience in an artwork proofreading role
Working knowledge of spot and four color process printing
Working knowledge of trapping, as well as digital prepress techniques necessary for both line art and/or process print separations
Strong communication skills to clearly explain graphic errors to department artists
Math skills to include simple addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division
Microsoft Word and Excel skills to include the ability to open, close, create, edit, and save documents
Strong attention to detail and accuracy
Ability to perform duties with minimal supervision
Ability to collaborate with team members
Ability to maintain composure when faced with stressful situations
Ability to maintain composure and adapt in a dynamic, fast-paced, customer-focused work environment characterized by minimal lead times, and multiple competing priorities
Preferred Skills & Qualifications:
Experience working with automated workflow software
Experience with Esko software suite
