The Senior Technician – Gear Mfg./Process Qualityis responsible for assisting in the planning, implementing and maintaining stable and capable production/business processes as they pertain to equipment functionality. Machine/Equipment capabilities as they relate to safety, throughput, quality-improvement, monitoring and correcting issues related to the Gear production lines.
Job Duties/ Responsibilities:
Responsible for maintaining production line performance and related problem-solving activities
Responsible for the planning, testing and assisting in the implementation of preventative actions in the production lines in order to establish and verify capable and stable production processes in terms of safety, quality, delivery, and cost.
Responsible for non-critical changes in production processes in cooperation with product engineering & systems support where applicable.
Investigate and recommend resolution to issues associated with non-conforming parts.
Maintain and evaluate all quality documentation.
Responsible for performing and/or coordinating internal quality investigations on production lines (e.g. Process or product/dock audits).
Assist 8D investigations or similar corrective action processes derived from product and process audits, from internal quality investigations, or customer complaints.
Assist in the development and maintenance of SWI’s.
Responsible for all measurement gaging stations such as capability studies and gage R&R’s.
Work closely with Supplier Quality Engineers, Auditors, Design Engineers, Maintenance Employees, Planners, Logistics, etc. in order to define corrective actions and investigate for continuous improvement efforts.
Establishing, maintaining, and administering Control Plans, PFMEA’s, and Process Flow Maps.
Support engineering projects and assists experienced engineers with engineering analysis.
Participate in all aspects of simultaneous engineering efforts for new projects.
Assist in monitoring and improving performance of production processes with respect to line balancing, cycle time, uptime, ergonomics and quality.
Generate, prepare, and present regular reports to both internal and external stakeholders.
Responsible for mainline and offline quality including gauge R&Rs, calibrations, and repeatability checks.
Essential Skills and Experience:
Associate Degree with 4-6+ years of related experience
Additional training, certificates and/or education will be considered in lieu of experience
Experience with Machining and/or Heat Treating
Ability to set and achieve goals with supervision
Demonstrated teamwork, interpersonal and planning skills
Must be self-directed and willing to work any shift
Basic English language competency required
Strong computer skills, must be proficient in MS Office
