Facilitates multi-functional teams to develop and execute selected improvement projects. Actively develops, establishes and manages working relationships with leaders.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Knows, understands, incorporates and demonstrates the mission, vision and values of Trinity Health in behaviors, practices and decisions. Provides expertise in Performance Excellence to Regional Health Ministries and Trinity Health System Office. Serves as point of contact/liaison between Performance Excellence and its customers. Integrates Trinity Health Leadership System (THLS) methodology in the application of process improvement and design methodologies including Lean, PDSA, Change Management, Project Management and Process Analysis in the process of deploying PE Management System improvements. Facilitates improvement teams to drive results – oriented, value based improvements in key strategic areas to support RHM and Trinity Health strategic plan through utilization of performance improvement methodologies and techniques. Acts as change agent to promote transformation in operations and managerial decision making. Serves as primary liaison and technical knowledge resource to leaders, managers and staff and Ministry Organizations on complex improvement projects with system-wide scope. Provides a leadership advisory role in problem-solving, responding to challenges and potential risk factors and assisting in identifying, understanding and utilizing performance improvement methodologies in order to support the advancement of strategic goals and objectives. Supports the design, collection, and analysis of data for process improvement projects. Abstracts and manages data in support of process improvement projects. Creates graphical presentations of data. Develops and teaches performance improvement curriculum including, but not limited to, Lean - Six Sigma Change Acceleration and Rapid Process Improvement. Trains and mentors performance improvement experts and colleagues at all levels of the organization. Responsible for identifying and articulating performance improvement opportunities. Provides on-going communication, consulting and analytical support to leaders, managers and staff relative to new opportunities and other issues. Develops relationships, maintains open communication and ensures coordinated support while working closely with performance improvement leaders at the Regional Health Ministries. Ability to manage multiple initiatives and multiple stakeholder groups and maintain deadlines. Maintains a working knowledge of applicable Federal, State and local laws/regulations; the Trinity Health Integrity and Compliance Program and Code of Conduct; as well as other policies and procedures in order to ensure adherence in a manner that reflects honest, ethical and professional behavior.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Must possess advanced understanding of operations, financial analysis, and organizational development as usually obtained through completion of a Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Business or Health Administration or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience. Master’s Degree beneficial. Advance Lean training. Lean Certification preferred. Five (5) to seven (7) years of previous experience in driving lean transformational efforts that have resulted in sustained, on-going process improvement and culture change required. Healthcare related work experience highly desirable. Proficiency in applying the tools of Lean practices to healthcare related problems. . Responsible leadership experience overseeing progressively complex projects and interfacing with executive leadership. Possesses a thorough understanding of Lean management systems, Lean philosophy and tools with the proven capacity to train and mentor others. A true believer in nurturing teamwork, developing others through mentoring and coaching. Possesses a thorough understanding of the Lean management system, Lean philosophy and tools with the proven capacity to train and mentor others. Hands-on facilitation: involved in execution, not just planning of projects. Strong communication, organizational, negotiation and leadership skills. Ability to facilitate communications between diverse groups and effectively influence and present advisory consultation. Experience in developing curriculum utilizing adult learning principles Demonstrated proficiency to identify and articulate process improvement opportunities and provide authoritative consultation. Must possess well-developed project management, process redesign, and analytical skills. Prior experience and knowledge of healthcare information technology functionality is beneficial. Self-motivated and self-directed in fulfilling assigned tasks/ responsibilities with proven ability to work independently and as a team member. Proficient in the use of computer software programs such as Word, Excel, Project, Visio and PowerPoint. Must possess a personal presence that is characterized by a sense of honesty, integrity and caring with the ability to inspire and motivate others to promote the philosophy, mission, vision, goals and values of Trinity Health.

PHYSICAL AND MENTAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORKING CONDITIONS

Must be able to adapt to frequently changing work priorities and be able to prioritize and balance the needs and expectations of System Office, Ministry Organizations, and Trinity Health Networks leadership and colleagues. Must be able to travel to the various Trinity Health sites, both local and distant, as needed, which may be up to 50% of the time, (every other month possibility) depending upon current work assignment.
