Position Summary

Reporting to the Finance Systems Manager, the Finance Systems’ Analyst will be responsible for assisting with the technical aspects of Financial Systems which includes the General Ledger, Consolidation Systems, Planning and other tools that assist in the completion of the Financial Statement Preparation and Close. This position will interact with internal customers across all business units and support a variety of IT activities related to the monthly financial statement preparation and close processes, as well as the annual planning process. This position is located in Livonia, MI.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assists with the technical needs of the General Ledger, Planning and AP invoice system

  • Assists with the functional maintenance of EPM (HFM/FDMEE, FR Studio, Smart View) and other

  • Financial Systems including metadata management, writing business rules and financial reports

  • Assists end users of all Financial Systems and related tools

  • Participates in change management processes related to all supported systems

  • Works with process owners to enhance the use and functionality within the Hyperion and SAP Suite of products to the fullest extent

  • Writes and develops reports to extract data out of existing systems

  • Collaborates with IT on technical changes/enhancements that will be used to drive change in all supported systems

  • Prepares training documentation and trains end users on all aspects of supported systems

  • Gathers and provides testing samples for Sarbanes Oxley Controls

  • Assists and tests system upgrades and patches

  • Researches tools and applications within Hyperion and SAP, and other business systems to maximize use across all areas

Essential Qualifications & Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer information systems, business or accounting and or related field

  • Previous Financial Systems experience

  • Proficiency in Microsoft based applications: Word, Excel (including VBA), Outlook

  • Strong Analytical skills and demonstrated knowledge in accounting, with functional understanding of close and consolidation processes

  • Continuous Improvement mindset

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; and demonstrated successful ability to build positive partnerships, while working collaboratively with cross-functional business teams

  • Demonstrated successful ability to organize and prioritize work to ensure deadlines are met

  • Ability to function at a high level of effectiveness, flexibility, independence and initiative without daily interaction with management

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 3+ years Financial Systems experience
