Leads the strategic and tactical culture, change and engagement efforts in support of a highly visible and impactful strategic initiative. Responsible for change integration efforts which include coaching the strategic initiative executive sponsors in leading large scale organizational change from a people/culture perspective and engaging key stakeholders in order to accelerate and sustain transformational change over time. Leads through influence the formation and coordination of an integrated change team which includes representatives from project management, engagement (change leadership), communication and learning and development functions. Responsible for integrating culture, change and engagement programs, services, philosophies and methodologies into the strategic initiative.
Knows, understands, incorporates, and demonstrates the Trinity Health Mission, Vision, Core Values and Actions in behaviors, practices, and decisions. Provides consultative expertise and strategic leadership in the planning, defining and validating of culture, change and engagement program philosophy, strategy and practice while ensuring alignment with strategic objectives and needs of the business. Responsible for providing consultative expertise and strategic leadership in the design, development and delivery of sustainable culture, change and engagement tools, programs and techniques to support the organization and people during times of organizational change. Builds, re-equips, sustains, and assesses culture, change and engagement facilitator networks that support, educate and equip others to lead, drive and sustain culture, change and colleague engagement at the local, regional and system level. Provides targeted services and collaborates and partners with senior management, business leaders and colleagues to ensure they are equipped to lead ongoing culture, change and colleague engagement efforts with other key stakeholders throughout the system. Measures and monitors the impact of ongoing culture, change and colleague engagement initiatives by gathering actionable data through multiple diagnostic techniques such as culture assessments, annual engagement or other surveys or focus groups. Provides consultative expertise and strategic leadership in collaborating with other Talent Management components to provide a culture, change and engagement perspective, including embedding Change Leadership competences in all Talent Management programs and initiatives. Provides consultative expertise and strategic leadership to culture initiatives by fostering Trinity Health’s system culture, educating stakeholders about the importance of culture in organizational performance through subject matter expertise and through coaching individual and leadership group; supports the MO/business in aligning with Trinity Health’s culture strategy through culture assessments and works with the Colleague Resource Center to manage Culture Circle logistics, e.g., facility arrangements. Provides consultative expertise and strategic leadership to change initiatives by utilizing change leadership practice diagnostic tools and methodologies to prepare for the change, manage the change and evaluate the change. Assessesthe organization’s readiness from a people/culture perspective; coaches change sponsors in leading change and managing resistance; identifies barriers and risks to project success; leads through influence the formation and coordination of the integrated change team (project management, engagement, communications and learning/development), and evaluates the impact of change leadership practice on the change effort. Provides consultative expertise and strategic leadership to Colleague Engagement initiatives by collaborating with strategic initiative leaders on developing action plans and initiatives focused on driving colleague engagement in support of departmental and organizational strategic objectives and collaborates with designated leaders to monitor colleague engagement throughout the system and develop action plans to address issues, as appropriate. Performs other duties as needed and assigned by the strategic initiative leader and the Director, Culture, Change and Engagement. Maintains a working knowledge of applicable Federal, State and local laws/regulations; the Trinity Health Integrity and Compliance Program and Code of Conduct; as well as other policies and procedures in order to ensure adherence in a manner that reflects honest, ethical and professional behavior.
Master’s degree in Human Resources Management, Business Administration, Organizational Change Management, Organizational Development, Organizational Psychology or a related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Minimum (7) to ten (10) years of progressively more responsible related experience including program development, project management and process consulting. Advanced and broad knowledge of culture, change & engagement principles, methodology and techniques. Prosci Level I certification or its equivalent preferred. Minimum five (5) years of health care experience preferred. Ability to exhibit an understanding of the business and care experience, including industry factors, that influence Trinity Health’s fulfillment of it mission and how HR strategies, objectives and service delivery impact such success. Ability to deliver consistent service utilizing the requisite subject matter knowledge and expertise to integrate the technical, process, people and culture aspects of transformational change and put forth strategic and tactical measures for managing the people and culture aspects in particular. Ability to maintain accessibility and visibility as the HR service provides in order to monitor and fulfill colleague needs and engagement with extraordinary customer service, and managerial advice to ensure people issues are adequately addressed or mitigated to create a respectful, positive and sustainable work environment. Ability to collaborate with leadership as a credible, results-driven and valued business partner by engaging in proactive discussions and decision around mission attainment, business performance, financial operations and impacts, negotiations, strategy and development of key talent programs and processes to identify and address current and future business and people challenges. Ability to be the strategic change leadership practitioner for large-scale organizational transformations, to enable and deliver long-lasting and sustainable organizational changes while minimizing disruption to the patients, colleagues and business. Seeks innovative ways to deliver higher value programs and services more efficiently and effectively. Process consulting skills including the ability to perform diagnostics, data analysis, process design and facilitation. Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills in order to anticipate issues and independently generate new ideas with several alternatives to complex and broad reaching situations while applying extensive related experience. Advanced level of written and verbal communication skills and oral presentation skills for varied interactions. Influences and anticipates the needs of others while acting as a subject matter expert. Ability to coach, mentor and provide guidance to lower level colleagues. Detail-oriented with a high level of organizational skills and ability to manage and complete work in an efficient and thorough manner. Proficiency in software programs including Microsoft Office Suite. Familiarity with Workday preferred. Must be discrete and maintain the highest confidentiality with extremely sensitive data. Strong organizational, interpersonal, consultative and relationship building skills in order to initiate and develop productive working partnerships with management and staff. PHYSICAL AND MENTAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORKING CONDITIONS
Operates in a typical office environment. The area is well lit, temperature-controlled and free from hazards. Incumbent communicates frequently, in person and over the telephone, with people in a number of different locations on technical issues. Manual dexterity is needed in order to operate a keyboard. Hearing is needed for extensive telephone and in person communications. Must be able to speak and communicate clearly and effectively. The environment in which the incumbent will work requires the ability to concentrate, meet deadlines, work on several projects at the same time and adapt to interruptions. Must be able to adapt to frequently changing work priorities and be able to prioritize and balance the requirements of working with the System Office and Regional Health Ministries (RHMs). Must be able to travel to various Trinity Health sites as needed. Workhours may include afterhours and weekends.
