Sandalwood Engineering & Ergonomics Engineering Program Manager in Livonia, Michigan

The Engineering Program Manager will join a growing team of Engineering and Health & Safety professionals helping our customers reduce their work-related risk to quality, productivity and employee health.

Successful candidates will have the following attributes:

  • Knowledge of automotive powertrain products and major components of engines, transmissions and axles, with an emphasis on launch materials and parts, financial controlling and resource management experience

  • Working knowledge of program management methodologies, such as: scope management, schedule development & integration, risk management, status & control planning, issue & action item management, cost management

  • Excellent communication skills, well organized, detail-oriented team player


  • Organizing and facilitating program cross-functional meetings and workshops, including documentation of meeting minutes and action items

  • Documenting and maintaining program assumptions, risks, issues, and action items

  • Leading the development, review and approval of program plans and schedules

  • Preparing of program status reports, presentations, program metrics and Engineering management boards

  • Ensuring visibility and consistent understanding of program content at system and component level, coordination with running product changes, managing program conflicts and escalations

  • Providing Examples of automotive program management best practices


  • 5-10 years of experience with Engineering Planning for new product programs

  • Knowledge of automotive product development processes (Daimler MDS, CVDS: GM GVDP; Ford GPDS; VW PEP)

  • Certified PMP (Project Management Professional) or CAPM (Certified Associate in Project Management)

  • CSSGB (Certified Six Sigma Green Belt)

  • Bachelor's degree in Management, Engineering or equivalent

  • Must have safe and reliable transportation
