Pet Supplies Plus ERP Functional Analyst in Livonia (Headquarters), Michigan

The ERP Functional Analyst is responsible for investigating enhancement requests and providing support to investigate problems within D365 for Pet Supplies Plus, including all data interfaces and processing to and from stores, distribution centers, the corporate office and third-party systems. This position will complete the analysis of business process issues and improvements and investigate potential solutions to be discussed with the support team.

The ERP Functional Analyst will provide Tier 2 support to investigate problems within Microsoft Dynamics 365 for Finance and Operations modules, diagnose the root cause and resolve issues. Other areas of focus include the ERP interfaces for our distribution company (including vendor, item, store, purchase order, sales order, returns to warehouse, returns to vendor, and inventory adjustments), our supply chain systems (Manhattan WMOS, Inventory Optimization, Labor Management), and point of sale interfaces (item, price, promotions, departments, customer, store configuration). This individual will be a core member of the team responsible for upgrade of our ERP system from AX2012 to D365 F&O, which has started in Feb 2021.

ERP Functional Analyst key responsibilities include:

  • Contributing to the enforcement of best practices with the end-user base and promoting the adoption of defined business processes.

  • Taking ownership of accounting and finance modules in D365 and acting as a functional analyst to resolve any issues or perform enhancements in those areas.

  • Investigating enhancement requests, clarifing objectives, understanding software functionality, and recommending solutions using industry best practices.

  • Being an integral part of the financial statement close process by partnering with the corporate accounting and information technology teams to ensure an effective close process

  • Contributing to solution design by establishing specifications and functional requirement documentation and working with developers to realize the change required.

  • Validating results by testing enhancements, configurations, and workflows for submission to User Acceptance Testing.

  • Being a key member of the On-Call group that provides 24x7 level support for our application suite on multiple platforms and environments including troubleshooting, debugging and problem resolution.

  • Working with the team; prioritizes problems, projects, and requests, and communicates / escalates where appropriate. Creates accurate work plans for various cross-functional projects – appropriately identifies risks, constraints, and assumptions.

  • Leading medium-sized projects and cross-functional technology teams through design, rollout, and support. Defines scope, size, and estimates of the technical components, drives projects to meet schedules and deadlines.

  • Developing and maintaining a strong two-way communication channel between our business partners and IT

  • Verifying data integrity, functional integrity testing, and data maintenance.

ERP Functional Analyst requirements include:

  • Bachelor's Degree, or equivalent work experience

  • 3+ years’ experience building solutions with Microsoft ERP applications (D365, AX)

  • Completed at least 1 Full Life-Cycle ERP implementation

  • Certified or working towards a certification in D365 F&O

  • Extensive background and expertise in analysis and design of complex business applications.

  • Ability to work with a diverse set of users from upper management to helpdesk team and to be able to communicate effectively across groups.

  • Vision and organizational skills to balance end-user support with larger strategic project support

  • Experience with project management methodology

  • Proven ability to successfully manage time and multiple priorities

  • Critical thinking, problem solving and analytical skills

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, task, and time management skills

  • Demonstrated experience leading small projects and team sizes ranging from 2-10 resources

  • Demonstrated accountability and ownership of projects, with solutions meeting/exceeding requirements

  • Proven ability to meet project deadlines and budgets and to manage multiple concurrent projects

  • Demonstrates initiative, follow-through, and great customer service

  • Ability to work well under pressure and time constraints and be able to adjust to a constantly changing, fast paced environment

  • Knowledge of relational databases and SQL will be a plus
