What will you do?

The Supervisor, ULS Inventory Manager Support is responsible for leading a team of subject matter specialists (SMEs) in providing high-quality business-side platform and operations support for customers, managed services on-sites, remote services personnel and RSD sales team. Reporting to the Senior Manager/Manager Remote Service Operations and working closely with the Supervisor, Inventory Management Services, this role will drive a one-team approach to support, helping to leverage the team's full capabilities, and ensuring no organizational barriers exist to driving efficiencies and platform use optimization.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

People Leadership and Development

  • Supervise, coach, maintain and develop a team of business-side platform support specialists, manage the team's talent working closely with the Senior Manager/Manager Remote Service Operations.

  • Proactively manage work patterns and staffing levels to avoid a backlog of support requests developing, ensure appropriate resources are available to cover workflow requirements

  • Develop one-team culture and positive work environment maintaining the dignity and respect of all team members through active and empowering management.

Platform Support (business-side) and Innovation

  • Ensure an excellent standard of support to internal and external customers and work internally and externally to build the necessary networks to deliver this goal.

  • Develop support tracking and metrics to enable root cause analysis of user support requests & questions.

  • Ensure that support requests are processed to agreed turnaround times, are tracked with open and close dates, and feed into platform improvement requests, bug fixes and/or self-help resources.

  • Ensure that self-help and support resources continually evolve to ensure operational efficiency and resource optimization. Work with training, knowledge base, and migration projects to ensure a holistic and customer-centric evolution.

  • Provides technical sales support for RSD, IES and 'Inventory Manager in a Box' opportunities.

  • Continually challenge the status quo to improve our customer quality and team efficiency.

  • Develop an environment of continuous improvement and innovation

Key Stakeholder Focus

  • Assist in the implementation and development of new platform functionality including requirements input, testing, documentation, and user communication.

  • Build and develop mutually beneficial relationships with all key stakeholders and internal and external key customers.

How will you get there?

Education:

  • University degree in a relevant area (technical, operations, inventory management, logistics, general business) or equivalent experience.

Experience:

  • Successful track record of managing/supervising people for a minimum of 2-3 years

  • Experience in how to coach and develop people

  • Knowledge and experience with inventory management solutions; experience with Thermo Fisher Scientific inventory management platforms is preferred

  • A background in a commercial and technically focused service environment

  • Successful track record of service delivery in a high-volume, matrixed organizations

  • Prepared to visit customers, attend exhibitions, training events, and sales meetings which may involve overnight stays

  • Experience with process development and improvement

  • Be a strong, self-motivated manager with open and clear communication skills, both written and verbal
