Jackson National Life Insurance Company Senior Change Leadership Consultant in Lansing, Michigan
The Senior Change Leadership Consultant plays a key role in helping projects meet business, schedule, and budget objectives. This role focuses on the human element of change initiatives – including changes to business processes, systems and technology, job roles, and organization structures. The Senior Change Leadership Consultant works to drive faster adoption, greater utilization, and higher proficiency on the changes impacting employees in the IT organization such that business results are achieved. The Senior Change Leadership Consultant will act as a coach for IT senior leaders in helping them fulfill the role of change sponsor and support project teams in integrating change management activities into their project plans. The Senior Change Leadership Consultant will provide direct support and coaching to various levels of IT management so they can help their direct reports through transitions.
Essential Job Duties & Responsibilities
Develops and facilitates the implementation of a change management strategy in the IT department.
Supports change management at the organizational level.
Develops and manages the change management work-plan for projects in the IT department.
Monitors change readiness and develops relevant interventions.
Provides feedback and synchronizes efforts across projects and business units.
Contributes to the design, development, and implementation of capacity building and knowledge transfer (training) based on the redesigned processes and systems.
Ensures that change management issues arising are adequately addressed and resolved.
Develops and implements a set of actionable and targeted change management plans – including communication plan, sponsor roadmap, coaching plan, training plan, and resistance management plan, to help ensure sustainment of the change.
Supports the execution of plans by managers and business leaders.
Is an active and visible coach to leaders who are ”change sponsors”.
Creates and manages measurement systems to track adoption, utilization, and proficiency of individual changes.
Identifies resistance and performance gaps and works to develop and implement proactive countermeasures.
Creates and enables reinforcement mechanisms and celebrations of success.
Works with IT project teams to integrate change management activities into the overall project plan.
Collaborates with communication, training, and HR specialists in the formulation of plans and activities to support change implementations.
Applies a structured change management approach and methodology for the people side changes caused by projects and change efforts.
Develops a change management strategy based on situational awareness of the details of the change and the groups being impacted by the change.
Identifies potential people side risks and anticipated points of resistance and develops specific plans to mitigate or address the concerns.
Provides coaching and mentorship to Change Leadership Consultants.
Job Requirements (Knowledge, Skills & Abilities)
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
Strong understanding of how people go through change and the change process.
Familiarity with project management approaches, tools, and phases of the project lifecycle.
Familiarity with software development approaches, such as waterfall or agile methodologies.

Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Tools.
Education and Experience Required
Bachelor’s Degree and/or equivalent experience.
8 years of change management experience and a thorough understanding of change management processes.
Experience and knowledge of change management principles and methodologies. (for example: ADKAR)
Experience with large-scale organizational change effort.
Certifications, Licenses, Registrations
- Change Management Professional designation or Prosci certification is a plus.
