Jackson National Life Insurance Company Information Security Analyst Trainee in Lansing, Michigan

_Job Purpose_

The Information Security Analyst Trainee Program is designed to provide training and a career opportunity to individuals with little or no previous information security knowledge or experience to prepare for a career in the information security field. The trainee program will be an approximate 19 month rotational program which will include one month of training and 6 month rotations in 3 of the 5 Information Security Departments. Trainees will work together with management to determine areas of interest and will be placed on assignments/rotations based on business need. Upon successful completion of the program, the trainee will be eligible to transition to a position within the Information Security Department.

The Information Security Analyst Trainee Program is currently offering rotations in the following areas: Security Engineering, Ethical Hacking, Security Control and Oversight, Security Operations and Program Management.

*Essential Job Duties & Responsibilities*

Security Engineering * Assists in managing the IT security infrastructure including configuration, maintenance and installation of IT security applications and hardware. * Assists in the evaluation and testing of hardware, firmware and software. Ethical Hacking * Assists in scanning network servers for possible vulnerabilities or missing patches. * Works with various pen testing tools interpreting results, minimizing false positives, and presenting findings with the Security Lead.

Security Control and Oversight * Coordinates resources with the RSAM administrator and conducts periodic assessments in accordance with the criticality of the controls. * Oversees information security assessment for 3rd party due diligence. Security Operations * Monitor SIEM alerts from a variety of application and infrastructure platforms and leverage additional security tools for executing triage and incident escalation processes. * Maintain confidentiality on all sensitive security matters. Program Management * Develops complex project plans which identify key issues, problems, approaches, performance metrics and resources required, and revises as appropriate to meet changing needs and requirements. * Creates, manages, and tracks project schedules, including tracking dependencies, deadlines, and other information that may impact delivery or quality of project.

  • Bachelor’s degree in information technology related disciplineor or equivalent work experience required.
  • Prior IT intern experience preferred.
