State of Michigan Engineer Manager Licensed 14 (Lansing TSC Operations) University Region in Lansing, Michigan
As a manager and supervisor, coordinate and administer the Transportation Service Center business processes for Operations consisting of Maintenance, Traffic Operations & Mobility, Traffic Safety, Utility Coordination and Permits and maintain alignment with the other TSC's, Regions, Lansing and the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA). This position supervises employees with multi-disciplinary skills who are represented by different labor contracts. The manager is charged with meeting deadlines, engaging customers to understand and meet their needs, resolving complex issues to ensure successful process and service implementation, managing budgets and ensuring continued operations for delivery of MDOT services and products. This position is also responsible for maintenance work plan development and budgeting. This responsibility includes optimizing TSC efforts for traffic safety, mobility, reliability, and accessibility, as well as participating in the Region business team meetings. This position is also responsible to ensure the technical and personal development of employees and their commitment to customer service.
Required Education and Experience
Possession of a bachelor of science degree in engineering
Experience Five years of professional experience equivalent to an Engineer, including three years equivalent to an Engineer P11; two years equivalent to an Engineer 12, Engineer Manager 12, or Engineer Manager-Licensed 12; or, one year equivalent to an Engineer Manager 13, Engineer Manager-Licensed 13, Engineering Specialist 13, or Engineering Specialist-Licensed 13.
