State of Michigan Departmental Analyst 9-P11 in Lansing, Michigan
Position serves as an analyst supporting various functions of the Actuarial Division. Identifies, accesses and works with a wide range of program and financial data. Assists with coordination of projects, conducts analysis and does research on eligibility, rates and service utilization. Works on projects to support and enhance data resources that are used to conduct business of the division. Conducts analysis to support development and monitoring of the Medicaid budget. Performs financial analysis to determine and justify the amount included in Medicaid special financing transactions. Performs analysis to estimate the programmatic and fiscal impact of policy changes or proposed policy changes.

Describe recent successful experiences you've had completing multiple projects and meeting frequent deadlines.
In 800 words or less, describe what role you believe government should play in providing basic health care coverage to people who are unable to access these services on their own. Explain why you are interested in working for a program such as Medicaid whose purpose is to provide these types of services.
Describe your experience using spreadsheets (e.g. Excel), databases (e.g. Access), and/or statistical software (e.g. SAS, SPSS, Stata).
Describe what a relational database is and your experience using this type of database.

Required Education and Experience
Possession of a bachelor's degree in any major.
Departmental Analyst 9_ No specific type or amount is required.
Departmental Analyst 10
One year of professional experience.
Departmental Analyst P11
Two years of professional experience, including one year of experience equivalent to the intermediate (10) level in state service.
