We are a team of teams, process and content experts, dedicated to building emA world where tomorrow is healthier than today!/emTitle: Database Administrator$20.26 - $32.95 / Posted thru: 9-30-20Employee Name: TBDSupervisor: Stuart EddyPurpose: The person in this position serves as a Departmental Analyst in the Environmental Data Analytics Unit of the Toxicology Assessment Section, responsible for designing, building, and maintaining reliable databases used to organize and validate large datasets and maintain records for a variety of public health needs. They must be adept at database design, proficient working with Microsoft Access, and able to both work with raw data and produce input forms and summary reports for use by field staff, analysts, and managers.This person will need to work with a variety of staff with different experience and skill levels to ensure the data management needs of the various environmental science and health assessment teams are met. They will also collaborate with other data management staff and end users to provide technical support and identify new information organization solutions. Communication and organizational skills are essential for this position, along with willingness to address a variety of data management challenges.Duties and Responsibilities:Duty #1: Database Creation and Implementation (60% of time)ulliGather user requirements and identify necessary features needed for data input and report generation/liliDesign stable, reliable and effective databases to track, compile, analyze and maintain large datasets/liliDocument database structures/li/ulDuty #2: Database Management (20% of time)ulliOptimize and maintain legacy systems/liliModify databases according to requests and perform tests/liliSolve database usage issues and malfunctions/liliLiaise with end users to improve applications and establish best practices/li/ulDuty #3: Database Support (15% of time)ulliDevelop technical and training manuals/liliProvide data management support to end users/li/ulDuty #4: Administration (5% of time)ulliResearch and suggest new database products, services, and protocols/liliAssist with data assembly, quality control and reporting for special projects/liliAll other duties as assigned/li/ulQualifications/Requirements: Education: A master's degree in computer science, information technology or database administration is preferred; however, equivalent combinations of education, certifications, and experience that provide the required knowledge, skills, and abilities will be evaluated on an individual basis.Experience: Three to five years of experience designing and creating databases, including in MS Access.
